Productive Morning Routine: Wake up Like a Champion

When we look at the habits of some of the richest and the most successful people in the world, we will find one thing common for sure. This is the habit of waking up early and giving a productive start to their day. However, not everyone can wake up super early like at 5 a.m., but we should all try and give a productive start to our day irrespective of the time we wake up at.

Need for a Productive Morning Routine

Some people might argue about the need to be productive in the morning when they have the entire day to do that. But the thing is that having a productive morning routine and starting your day with an intention gives us the drive to stay productive throughout the day.

Take it this way, if you wake up and go straight into scrolling on Instagram, you’re likely to stay like that for a while. Not only is that a waste of time, but you’re also most likely to panic when the realization hits. You’ll feel unprepared and you won’t be able to figure out where to start. And that way, you might even end up wasting your entire day.

So now that we know how important a productive morning routine is, let’s figure out what activities actually make our mornings productive.

1. Making Bed After Waking up

Irrespective of the time we wake up, making the bed is very important. This is because if we spend some time making our bed look neat and tidy, we will not crawl back in easily. Apart from that, making our bed also sets up a good and meaningful tone for our day.

2. Boosting up with Healthy Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Now when we are staying at home, there’s no reason to skip breakfast. Even if we go out, some of the amazing recipes take just 5 minutes. We can always take out 5 minutes no matter what and eating a wholesome and nourishing breakfast keeps us fueled up until lunchtime.

3. No Phone Mornings

As described earlier, if we get on our phones right after waking up, we might end up scrolling for hours straight. That can mess up the entire workflow for the day. And hence, achieving productivity might become difficult.

There might be some important messages or emails waiting for us. But they can always wait for some more time while we set up an intention for the day. You might feel that it’s good and productive to address the important things first, but in this case, the phone can be a big distraction. And this needs to be taken care of.

4. Plan to Win

What’s the use of waking up early if you don’t know what to do? So, it’s important to plan out our day. This can also be done a night before. If we do it the night before, this is even better because we will be clear about what we need to do as soon as we wake up. But nonetheless, this can be done in the morning as well.

We can do this either straight after waking up or after feeding ourselves. If we plan our day in the morning, we will stay productive as we will know that we have some stuff to do. This time can also be utilized for brain dumps, morning pages, writing whatever we feel is restricting us, etc.

5. Get Moving

Getting some exercise done in the morning is a great idea. Getting our body in the morning leaves us full of energy. It helps our body to wake up in the real sense. If you feel that you can’t go for a workout, you can do some light stretching or you can go for a stroll or a light jog. The motive is to get our body moving somehow.

Now when we are stuck at home, exercising at home with the help of some workout videos is also a great idea. Going to the gym is not quite possible, but that shouldn’t stop us from being productive.

The Bottom Line

Either staying at home or going out for work, mornings can be the most productive time in our day if we take some small steps towards the same. If you feel that you don’t get enough ‘me time’ during the day, you can very well have it in the morning. If you feel that you can’t follow an elaborate productive morning routine like that shown in YouTube vlogs, you can always plan out as per your comfort and as per your schedule. But staying productive in the morning can really be a crucial step towards staying productive throughout the day.

For some people, skincare is an integral part of the mornings. But establishing a proper skincare routine can be a little tricky.
