One of the best mystery novels that I have read so far, ‘The hound of Baskervilles’ – third novel of the four novel series featuring Sherlock Holmes – presents a very entertaining and captivating story that leaves you awestruck as the mystery unravels itself.
Another amazing work by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, this book is an archetype of a classic detective novel.
The author wrote 4 novels and 56 short stories featuring Sherlock Holmes. The novel was published in 1902 in English. This novel should be read after ‘A study in scarlet’ and ‘The sign of four’. Though there is no apparent connection in the plots of the novel, the main characters remain constant.
This novel is a little different from the rest of the novels as it throws light on the ability and the observant behavior of Dr. Watson which many a time is overshadowed by the excellent reasoning and deduction of Sherlock Holmes.
This novel gives the opportunity to study the character and behaviour of Dr. Watson in detail and get to know more about it, this actually helps the reader to get connected with the characters on a root level. Every novel so different from other, tells you about the penmanship of the writer.
I loved it very much and I was completely absorbed in reading the novel and amazed to see how each part was unraveling one after another. In the novel, one can clearly see the fearlessness in the characters and their willingness to go to any heights in search of the truth.
Everyone should read this novel and experience this marvelous work of art at least once. The novel is not very long and hence even a non-regular reader can enjoy reading it. The writing is simple and very impactful. It is suitable for every person who wants to read it.
Person of every age group can enjoy it with the same level of enthusiasm and interest. I loved this novel very much and I strongly recommend everyone to read this novel and I am sure that every one will love it as much as I did.
