At Fight the Sunrise Fitness we believe that your fitness journey has to be one you embark and enjoy for the rest of your life. We tailor each fitness journey based on science and your existing lifestyle, so you never have that urge to quit.

1. Tell us more about yourself and your profession.

An Engineer by qualification, he entered the tech space early on and sold his first company that then saw him lead digital marketing and technology development in some of the biggest MNC's winning a plethora of awards along the way.

While this life took a toll on his health he decided to start his fitness journey and taught himself along the way experimenting with different workout genres and nutrition guidelines to enable his 30 kg drop and achieve that unattainable 6 pack.

His passion led him to switch over to the fitness industry where he flourished as Country Manager for a global fitness tech giant.

Noticing that the intent to get fit was abundant in India but there was a void in the fitness industry when it came to education, he quit his job and dove back into the entrepreneurial pool to start his fitness consultancy and share his knowledge with you. And thus Fight The Sunrise Fitness was born.

2. What is your fitness mantra?

At Fight the Sunrise Fitness we believe that your fitness journey has to be one you embark and enjoy for the rest of your life. We tailor each fitness journey based on science and your existing lifestyle, so you never have that urge to quit.

Nutrition: We don’t believe you have to give up sugar or alcohol or carbs or dessert or have to eat during certain timings. We prescribe everything in moderation in accordance to your body goals and requirements. Your nutrition needs to be all-inclusive and not exclusive of anything, and then only will you be able to stick to it.

Workouts: Our workout programmes are custom made according to your body type and goals, and target your muscles and energy systems to quickly adapt and improve. Whether it is fat loss, muscle gain, stamina, endurance, or strength training, our programmes ensure progressive overload to make sure the body hasn’t adapted to your routine. If you’re putting in the work, might as well make it count. Constant Renovation💫...

Duration: We do not put a timeline on fitness, so don't ask us how long our program is for. You continue with us till either you are satisfied with your body OR till you're dissatisfied with our programming. There will come a time where either you have reached your goal, or you have learnt to listen to your body so well that you won't need us anymore and we strive for that.

Conclusion: No quick fixes or magic, just a little dedication and patience. If you can’t do it every day it’s not worth it. That is the FTS way...

3. What are some of the major misconceptions about diets and exercises?

Where do I start. Right now, unfortunately, the market is filled with quick fixes, challenges and fad diets that promise you results, from detox cleanses, to 'x' day fitness challenges, to diet pills and restrictive diets like keto, intermittent fasting etc.

I am not saying the above don't work, they may; the problem with all of them is that they are not sustainable solutions, they are mostly short-lived.

Health and fitness should be something you adhere to for the rest of your life. There should not be an X day deadline on exercise.

Similarly, when it comes to nutrition, it should be all-inclusive and accessible in any scenario. The moment you add conditions of exclusion, whether it is timings or exclusion of types of food groups, you are developing a bad relationship with food, and that is the most unhealthy thing you can do.

4. How can one maintain a healthy lifestyle?

The key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle is Balance. Enjoy the food you eat, understand how it fuels your body, Enjoy your exercise, realise what your body is capable of doing, and make sure you push for progress.

We are neither athletes nor on a deadline to achieve the goal physique. Enjoy the process, understand your body and you will get to your health goals

5. How can one build a successful career in your field?

I feel like I am too nascent in my field to answer this. I have just finished one year this month, and 9 months of this year have been in lockdown. I do however believe I have achieved the success I have because I am true to my clients. They are at the end of the day looking to you for guidance.

I don't promise fast results or quick fixes or short cuts. I make them understand what they are doing and why they are doing it so that they can make informed decisions for themselves.

I act more as a guidance system that's there to hold their hand through a long journey and I think that's what's helped me connect with each of them and enables all of them to stick to their fitness journey and reap the results.

6. What is one piece of advice you would like to give someone who wishes to lose weight?

Don't rush into things. What works for one body doesn't necessarily work for all. Take some time to understand your body and then follow a structured workout and nutrition program that makes you progress and takes your body through the different stages in properly thought out steps.
