Did a US Woman Give Birth to 17 Identical Boys in Single Pregnancy? - Fact Check

Several Facebook accounts shared 3 pictures with a rather similar caption which says “Catherine Bridge has held the world record by giving birth to 17 babies. All of them are boys.” One of the three pictures shows a woman having a rather abnormal pregnancy as she had a huge sized belly which is bigger than that of a normal pregnancy.

On the other hand, one of the other two images shows a man sitting on a couch holding multiple infants and surrounded by so many babies around him, whereas the last picture also shows a woman with infants fully surrounding her in a room.

As this news got some air and rather quickly escalated and got viral. This post was shared from many Facebook accounts having shares and reshares numbering over 50,000. It even got tweeted on Twitter by some well-known blue ticked personalities.

As we tried to find out about how real the news is and did an image search in our search engine, we found that it was an old image of 2015 where a pregnant woman with a rather normal belly size was there on the web, and the photo which was used in the claim was photoshopped from there.

Then we thought of digging in deep and found out the other picture of a man with babies was posted on the official website of Dr. Robert Biter back in August 2012. And the other image of a woman with a room full of infants was nothing but a composite image where several photos clicked in different positions were collapsed into one frame and it was for a photography event.

So to wrap up our hunt for the truth we read the caption written in that Facebook post to try and find out the source of that information.

We found out a link of the source was taken from a website called The Women Daily Magazine which says the same story, after reading their article we found out that it was taken from another website called World News Daily Report, later only to find out that World News Daily Report is nothing but a satirical fake news website which tries to manipulate things to cook up fake stories for fun.

So, after a thorough and genuine effort, we found out that the above-stated claim was completely ‘false’. Rather, we find out how funny and hilarious it is when people share things without even reading or reviewing anything thoroughly. So from now on before sharing anything be a little proactive with your eyes as well as with your mind.
