Kartik Paliwal - I Came to Mumbai in 2016 and Worked as an Assistant Casting Director Before Setting up My Own Casting Company (Film Producer)

Bollywood casting director turned producer Kartik Paliwal. He is a well-known casting director in Bollywood. He is also working as an actor, model, photographer, television personality, and upcoming producer. He has experience of more than eight years in the Hindi film industry as well as in the television Industry.

The young and dynamic casting director Kartik Paliwal has ventured into production and has launched his own production company called Paliwal Entertainment.

Kartik has roped in Siddharth Sipani of the television serial Zindagi Ki Mahek for his new project – a music video. Kartik has debuted as a producer with the music video and for the project, he has roped in Sidharth as the lead. The song is titled Ekk Wari. 

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I came to Mumbai in 2016 and worked as an Assistant Casting Director before setting up my own casting company. My first film as an independent casting director was a small budget film.

Subsequently, I did the casting for films of different genres like Bachagiri, Veerey Ki Wedding, Choriya Choro Se Kam Nahin Hoti, yah movie Pakistan mein ban hai, Risknamaa, Fatafat. Apart from films, I have also done casting for TVCs. 

2. How and when did you realize your passion for creating films? 

I have chosen a lot of career paths for me. One of which was acting too. Acting was one such career path that helped me achieve new heights and from there onwards, my interest in creating films was established. I have worked as a casting director and now started my own production company called as the Paliwal Entertainment. 

3. Tell us about your upcoming projects.

I will soon be producing a music video and for the project we have Sidharth as the lead hero while Saath Nibhana Saathiya fame Kunal Singh will be seen in a negative shade in the music video.

The song will be titled Ekk Wari which will be sung by Rishi Roy Ft. Ankee. Music will be given by Rishi Roy while the beautiful lyrics will be penned by Talwar, Ankee and Rishi.

4. Which methods do you deploy to source talent for auditions?

In my career, I have employed several unconventional casting methods. For example, I spotted the budding new actors, my democratic style of auditioning has previously invited nuisance value from potential actors.

5. In your experience, what does one need to know about a casting contract?

One should have a lot of connections and the ability to search for casting calls. He or she should make use of all the opportunities available to him or her such as social media like Facebook, twitter which are excellent resources or media platforms for getting auditions. 

Actors should also create an account on auditions site and contact their local film offices.
