I have been writing since my childhood. Short articles, poems etc were part of my hobbies. I used to also contribute articles to various newspapers and magazines. Formally my first book 'Corporate Chanakya' came out in the year 2010. Since then I have written over 20 books.


1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I am from Mumbai and have been researching the teachings of Chanakya for the last 20 years. I play three roles. First, a author I write books. Second, as a teacher, I am director of the Chanakya International Institute of Leadership studies (CIILS) at the University of Mumbai. Third, I do training programs and consulting for varriosu organizations which include both private and government organsations. 

2. When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

I have been writing since my childhood. Short articles, poems etc were part of my hobbies. I used to also contribute articles to various newspapers and magazines. Formally my first book 'Corporate Chanakya' came out in the year 2010. Since then I have written over 20 books

3. What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?

To simplify the ancient wisdom of Chanakya in a common man's language. 

4. Where does your inspiration lie?

Three inspirations - my parents, my teachers and books. I have learnt from all the three sources. I also get inspired by ancient wisdom.

5. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

The publishers. They are the best friends I have discovered in my life. They make me a successful author. Without good publishers, authors also cannot reach their readers. 

6. As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?

I wanted to join the Indian Navy then. Now, I train them and be part of the same community in a teacher's role. (Teaching Chanakya Neeti to the Navy and other armed forces)

7. Do you have any tips for people who want to be an author?  

Read a lot. That is the first step. Start writing small articles. And when you write a full book, try and find good publishers.
