Salma Fuad Abdalla - Start Immediately the Idea Strikes Your Mind (Kenyan Based Content Creator)

Start immediately the idea crosses your mind. You’ll perfect it later. Once you start, you’ll get the hang of it and eventually be good if not perfect. Secondly, consistency. You only grow if you’re consistent with your content.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I am 22 years of age, Kenyan and currently staying in Mombasa. I am a content creator and a small business owner as well.

I deal with organic body care products such as exfoliating body scrubs, body butter and lip balms. (@silky_pout) is my brand.

When did you first decide that you wanted to create digital content and how did you start?

I enjoy creating content and it just happens whether intended or not. I cannot remember when exactly I started but it was around last year August when I started being consistent with content creation. (@salma_fuad)

Is vlogging and digital content creation a financially sustainable career?

Honestly, it depends. As a content creator, if you are consistent and you deliver good content, then yes it is. Pushing yourself and how you put yourself out there is what matters. With consistency, you can go places.

How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?

My brother (he is among the best photographers). He inspires me a lot. How his mind works, the ideas in his head, his creativity and consistency. He is so passionate about what he does and I love that about him. He makes me want to be that way.

What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring digital creators?

Start immediately the idea crosses your mind. You’ll perfect it later. Once you start, you’ll get the hang of it and eventually be good if not perfect. Secondly, consistency. You only grow if you’re consistent with your content.
