Zareen Shoaib - I Used To Write a "Dear Diary" Every Day Since Age 9 That Paid Me off (Pakistan Based Blogger)

I used to write a "Dear Diary" every day since age 9 and then it turned into "Dear Allah" - addressing God directly in my diaries and later I started my personal blog on Blogger. If you talk about Instagram, I have been quite late to step into the blogging world and I began with The Karachi Mom back in June 2019 and started sharing my day to day life with everyone

Tell us about your background and journey.

I am Zareen Shoaib aka The Karachi Mom where I share about my family, my day to day life, my modest lifestyle, about my 3 kids, their milestones, my shopping, tours, kid-friendly recipes and motherhood. I inspire and support women to work from home and earn a decent living.

I am a double Bachelors in BBA and BCA from PAF KIET, a freelancer through the platform of  Upwork.com and Work from Home Business Coach at Workbaaz. I am also the founder of Know Your Super Powers where we spread awareness, conduct kid-friendly and parent-friendly workshops against child abuse and teach situational actions to take against predators, safe circle and self-defence techniques and danger parts.

When did you first decide that you wanted to create digital content and how did you start?

I used to write a "Dear Diary" every day since age 9 and then it turned into "Dear Allah" - addressing God directly in my diaries and later I started my personal blog on Blogger. If you talk about Instagram, I have been quite late to step into the blogging world and I began with The Karachi Mom back in June 2019 and started sharing my day to day life with everyone.

It was a personal blog and I started it to be able to create awareness and relate to other mommies and share my experience as well as learn from others.

I became a part of Karachi Mom Bloggers almost after blogging for a year and met these amazing inspiring ladies that stand with each other in good and bad times and are each other's ultimate support system. It was always about my perspective towards life, motherhood and experiences in my relationships and creating awareness.

I have poured in the essence of my style and always endorsed things and products that add value to my life or support small businesses.

Are vlogging and digital content creation a financially sustainable career?

I will not say that vlogging and content creation is a sustainable career path for a woman who has to put different hats throughout the day and of course in the beginning it is not a piece of cake but eventually if you work hard, you can change your game and level up - it requires some sweats, great photography skills, correct angles, a pinch of editing, attitude, captions, connecting with your audience and so much more!

It always begins with a tiny journey, a little about me to more about my world and how I see the world!

How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?

I hope you laugh out loud because I know you would as best of the ideas always come when I am praying, about to sleep, driving my car or in my loo. Hahahaha! Isn't that actually true for all of us? Being on the creative side, it always strikes me when it's quiet and my ideas just come in a wink and go so I keep a handy notepad with me always to be able to jot them down before they vanish from my over occupied mom-brain!

What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring digital creators?

- Remember the point where you started, the people who lifted you up and supported you.

- Learn as you go and share what you know.

- Little acts of kindness in blogging, if someone needs help in a post, extend support and if you see

- Never copy someone's work and if you like to, please politely ask them and give them credit.

Never stop no matter what! You do you! Barriers are just tiny locks that you have the key to and the right attitude, the right direction will lead you to your destination!

Also, always and always begin your day with a tiny prayer for yourself because no other source of power can be extremely uplifting than prayer and when God's hand is on you, you can cross 7 seasons on one foot! Trust in yourself! You can move mountains!

Be a storyteller, dance like no one's watching - the world wants to know the real you - be original! Share your story!
