Fred Emmanuel - I Discovered There Was More to Art Than I Imagined but With Patience and Persistence I Grew Better in It (Pencil Sketch Artist)

The art of illustrating hyper realism basically is to bring out life out paper with hidden meaning using my pencil making it photorealistic which could easily be mistaken for picture.

1. Tell us more about your background and journey.

I'm from Nigeria, born in December 25,2002. Schooled in Keme Balogun College Lagos Nigeria. I have been into art from when I was a child but I did not take it that serious, I just took as a way to have fun. Most time my teachers in school ask me to draw for them in the school which was very fun.

I became seriously drawn to art when I first opened my Instagram account which was about early 2020. That was when I knew that there was more to art than I imagined. I discovered they were thousands of artists out there which I was amazed by what they create.

But the challenges I had then was I didn't have someone who was in art to put me through it. I just had to do all myself.

2. When did you decide you wanted to be a pencil sketch artist?

I have been an artist since I was a child but didn't take it that serious just made use of it to catch fun and entertain my friends until 2020 when I decided to make some research and see that it was all about, than I discovered there was more to art than I imagined but with patience and persistence I grew better in it.

3. Throw some light on the art of illustrating hyper realism?

The art of illustrating hyper realism basically is to bring out life out paper with hidden meaning using my pencil making it photorealistic which could easily be mistaken for picture.

4. Who is your favorite artist and why?

Speaking of my favorite artists that will be my future self, because I intend to set a goal to be better than my future self which is impossible cause, the more I intend to get better than him, he would always be ahead of me which motivates me not to relent in what I do best.

5. Where do you get inspired from to create art?

I get inspired by life, my environment and most importantly my mom. She has been my biggest motivation right from day one even when I felt like giving up she tells me to pick up my pencils and keep moving forward.

6. What does your typical day look like?

My typical day is mostly filled with drawing all day long, sometimes I play games, have fun with friends, listen to music, watch few movies and read book.

7. What piece of advice would you like to give to future aspiring pencil sketch artists?

My advice to future aspiring pencil sketch artists to never give up, sometimes art ain't what it seems, might be frustrating at times the motivation to continue isn't there it's like everything you are doing is in vein but I tell you one thing with time all that you have worked and pray for will sure come to you at the right time.

8. Which is your favorite book and why?

I don't really have a favorite book.
