In India, we need to change the way we treat sons, it's very important, this is something, this is the one thing from this country would help and globally, we need to come over nationalism, racism and this villagers fight they have, all this is baseless because we all are human beings at the end of the day.
I didn't knew I would be a motivational speaker because I knew I could not place what should I call it because as I was growing and would become good communicator. I needed that, also I knew I would soul speak problem quickly and it all started when I was 6 then 12 years old. I was 12 years old, when I met a sweeper near our area and he and his wife were eating very dry bread and they had one onion and I looked at them, then they called and I asked them what you all are eating and they said its their lunch and I said, this could be your lunch?
It's so dry, how you could eat it? They said I would eat it with water and that made my heart break. So what I did is that I ran back at home, told my dad how could people eat like that? He used one word over there is "KARMA" and that was big boggling for small child and then I said we have to do something and then gave me some dal and then took that dal and gave to them and they blessed me a lot.
While they blessed me a lot that was turning point of my life, to look deeper into the things around me and I'm a person who would sit alone and observe things that happens in front me and while looking into details about whats happening I could really connect and find solution within myself that could help the other person, that was the point where I decided to go to all the neighbors and collect little food in the lunch time to give it to them. So that they don't have to eat that dry food again and the whole area supported them and they really understood that what power it can do to people at that point. That way I could create, and there were peanut sellers, corn sellers, all these small people who look don't look at them when they walk.
KARMA which was like okay they did some karma but if people like you, me and somebody helps them that can change karma and they made me more logical. So as I grew from 12, events coming like these and then I connected with more of my religion.
And my father used to meditate, do yoga so even I used to follow this and my home became atmospheric and spiritualism so that was part of the motivation that my parents gave me the foundation, empathy and to look people beyond their colour, position and everything. This way, the point of my life where I am and there are many more experiences like this in my life. Because of this circumstances it has motivated me to do my work more and more to start up and say this is what can we do this is the solution let's do this.
And as a individual what can I contribute. I think the best way we would do was create more awareness of being more mindful have more mindful training and to be true and authentic to who you are interested of going out and convening people to love you. I don't believe in that. I think first you have to love yourself. To really share this planet with other begin.
All my life's experiences made me to come to this point where I decided to go out and talk about how to really be a human being. This is what I think has been my journey and will continue doing this. As many as people I can help till my last breath this is what I have promise this to myself.
I'm always there to help people. I have worked with many clients, lot of young people. I have worked a lot with young people and I love working with young people because this is the next generation and we need motivate them we need to teach them the right way to a human level.
That we both are human being and this is what I can give before I leave this planet . And that is the attitude that I have.
There is a lot of things together that when you become a speaker or life coach you must think why and what your intentions are, what your motivations are and what you are doing it. Once that is clear then you can stand on stage and talk from your authentic self. Not pretend. I think that is also very important to keep in mind when we are helping other people.
Sometimes people give it to me , and on certain places I have to go and talk certain things and sometimes it comes to me that this is what is needed in the society.
I have been invited to lot of events and talk different topics. They say you got to talk about this. And I go and prepare my self with all PowerPoints, looking really professional and then go on stage and Start your talk. And what happens is when you look at the audience and you say this is not what they want to hear. Their language there energy is telling me the completely different story.
Then what I do is I talk in the talk but I also believe In what the public wants it. So sometimes you have to or rather because of my experience and have done this many years so it becomes easy for me to do this. Because you have to follow your intuition to see this.
I think in India we have lot of speakers. It's good to have a confidence in going around in YouTube and everywhere speaking topic from here and there and listing to hundreds of people and talking about it it's really good but make a base make a foundation that is truly based on your authentic self you need or anybody who wants to be a public speaker should really sit down and meditate and ask themselves there clear intentions and motivation for speaking a topic.
If you are burning and gearing to do this because people they don't understand is every word that you speak is, everything that you do on that stage is matters to the public that is sitting and listening and it will change their lifes so you just can't blood out that you are taking from here and there, you should first sit down ask your self why you want to be a speaker where I'm going with this you must have a clear map plan on this.
I think if you don't have a strong foundation and a clear intention people can get hurt and mislead so don't be a politician, be the reason that course that will benefit lot of people and do it for empathy and compassion not for ego keeping all this thinks in mind then find a topic that you want for then you go with that. I think that would be a Start speaker. There are so many things to be a speaker there body language, there clothes, there expression there are so many things to it so one has to be very clear full.
Yes ofcourse it can be, but you have to work a lot, you have to be prepared to run around, comprise a lot ,to leave your family behind, children but definitely you can be professional full time speaker. Full time again means how much full time? My full time is like a balanced it out so you must balance out, you have to take care of yourself.
5. Which is your favourite talk ever and how did it change your life?
I think my favorite talk is when I was giving lecture in european unions, I had gone to european forms and I had to give a talk and there was a different questions coming in and one question was very interesting, asking me about Buddha is vegetarian and he does really wants us to be vegetarian?
I said if we go back to era of Buddha, he just had a bowl and he jus had to go around that bowl and what where he was given he had to eat so I don't think he propagates to become a vegetarian but he says don't kill animals for no reason so he believe in free will, I think that was very nice and smart question for me and l get very stimulated by with that, if I'm not mistaken it was mind training talk l had to give.
6. What are the best public speaking tips that have worked for you?
I'm a person who don't get nervous on the stage, I love stage, if you put me on the stage you will see like, wow whats happened here? It is like my home. Like actors who know who love to perform, for me give me the stage and I'm on and give a topic and I gonna write there and there, I should be like this in the school, they put me in the school and I'm on and I didn't care what was others opinion I was a free girl so the tips will be nothing to get scared, just own it, own your stage this is the first thing, before you go to the stage you must go and see the stage and if you can't see the stage, ask them to send the photo of the stage, you have to prepare before you go for the lecture.
For me it is easy because I'm used to being on the stage but if you are beginner and you want to do something on this profession and you really want to do this then make sure you go to the stage and if cant go then check the stage, and see how many sits are there and would you position your audience, are there cameras okay and check whether the sound is okay, how would you stand and never stand in front, you should move left to right and keeping moving and make sure facing your audience.
Don't point finger it's very important, always be humble towards your audience, always be alert when you are talking, be 100% prepared, don't flaunt your ego, keep your voice tone, practice your tone, choose your words properly and there are many things you have to do, so you have to see where you are going and it is important to have agent.
7. What impact do you want to make in the world?
In India, we need to change the way we treat sons, its very important, this is something, this is the one thing from this country would help and globally, we need to come over nationalism, racism and this villagers fight they have, all this is baseless because we all are human beings at the end of the day, we all suffer in some way or the other ,we have some kind of stress, I want the world to have peace, more compassion and we really need to look after our youth, if I could go, I would go to every university and empower girls and boys in the right way and thats why I have written a book and will publish it but I have waited corona to finish and I would publish it, I would like to see my audience face to face without their masks so I'm patiently waiting for corona to finish and I have made it towards the youth and its called 7 lives skills I would like to give and really want to empower every youth in this world because is too too beautiful to just waste it and with that I also don't want anybody to suicide because if people knew the truth about suicide and deaths and what happens the other side, I think we have not taught the basic knowledge what we have got in this world right now is education in western world and western way of educating.
We haven't got, the ancient Indian debonair way of doing this and there are many things that people don't believe because scientist is there now if even science coming in quantum physics and I'm always into this science so it is very important to spread right information to the youth so they can understand what is happening to them in their life, there are so many things that can be done towards the youth and towards the planet earth and there are so many things its compassion, women, youth empowerment these are my roles which i want to achieve and I hope my book inspire lot of young people to understand life more better and not suicide and mental health we talk about is really misinformed and the stigma around is also a problem, we really need to get rid of it so I hope this things I could do before I die.
My favorite book is 'Art of Happiness' by Dalai Lama. I was at airport in Stockholm and I just saw this book at stack and I just saw and picked it up, it found it interesting and I started reading at the airport and I started to lap and people were like alright it is really giving happiness it is cool or something and I was not laughing because it was making sense to me, I was feeling so much of joy and happiness because I understood its point of view and I was really interesting because I understood both parties, I understood what he was doing and i understood what he was doing because I have both doers experience and I understand it well the way thinking and doing things.
It was really nice combination of books and I would really like to say many people, just lay back on beach, take coffee or something. Its really good book, I loved it.
