“Every day I woke up, I tried to find reasons to live. Every day, when I slept, I tried to find reasons to not die. Every moment, I tried to find reasons to hope, dream and love. But I never found them. Until I met you.”
Inspiration has been the greatest tool for writers all over the world over centuries. Inspiration gives flair to ideas that were formerly unfathomable. It is an extension to a writer’s being and it often marks what makes a good storyteller.
But inspiration often strikes when you least expect it, through ways unforeseeable. And more often than not, inspiration comes in the form of a new person - someone who could just about change your whole perspective on life!
Introduction
Book’s Name - Everyone Has A Story (2015)
Author’s Name - Savi Sharma
Genre - Fiction, Contemporary Romance
Language - English
Synopsis - Spoiler Alert!
The novel consists of four main characters: Meera, Vivaan, Kabir, and Nisha, each with their own narratives that intertwine to give rise to the plot. It revolves around a young girl named Meera who is looking for a story line but has no idea where to look.
In her quest for her novel, she often visits a cafe owned by her friend Kabir, who always motivates her to keep writing. Kabir’s climactic story of losing a parent and struggling to make it on its own comes to an anti-climactic end as he falls in love with Nisha, a wealthy girl who he later proposes to.
It is at the cafe that Meera meets Vivaan, a young and wealthy banker with a hidden desire to leave the world he lives in and wander to his heart's content (cliche much?!). As they begin talking, they start growing an affinity for one another and he abruptly leaves, without Meera finding out his story.
She fails at every attempt to find him and is understandably heartbroken. Meanwhile, Vivaan realizes that even travelling won’t give him the happiness that Meera did (melodrama much?!) and he returns to her life.
Raging Meera makes some poor decisions and ends up in the hospital in a coma. Vivaan stays by her side day and night and finally reveals his story to an unconscious Meera. As his story ends, Meera miraculously wakes up from her coma giving the ordinary plot a predictable ending.

Famous Quotes
1. “Everyone has a story to tell, everyone is a writer. Some are written in the books and some are confined to hearts.”
2. “It’s our misconception – most of the time – that we live our lives the way we want. Every single step that we take is influenced by others. Only the part that we hide from everyone else and keep deep within our heart, is our own.”
3. “We were in different places around the world, and you can call it silly, but it felt as if we were still connected by each sunrise and each sunset.”
4. “Friends say goodbye to each other. Friends talk. Friends explain things. If your idea of friendship is just walking out one day, you need to go back to school and learn what it really means to have friends.”
5. “I am still not sure what my purpose really is. But I do know that there are days I want to escape the life I am living and grab my bags and just travel.”
6. “Life is about twists and turns. It is about experiencing everything and anything it throws your way. Some people are here to teach us lessons while other people will be here forever as we grow old together.”
The Bottom Line
“In the end, we always regret the choices we didn’t make, the love we didn’t accept and the dreams we didn’t fight for.”
Though the book is filled with several promising and inspirational themes, the general delivery and especially, the unnaturally convenient ‘miraculous’ ending take away from the promise of a good read, formulating it into a potential script for a ‘Dhamakedar Bollywood Masala’!
