Prerna - You Cannot Get Fit By Hitting The Gym (Blogger From India)

A lot of people think that if a person is hitting the gym or running they will be fit and healthy. Good health is a more wholesome concept. It comprises not only how you look or how physically strong you are but how strong is your immune system.

Tell us more about yourself and your profession.

I am a mom to two boys, a yoga teacher, a mountain lover and an award-winning blogger and an influencer. Through my blog, MaaOfAllBlogs and my social media pages I try to reach as many moms as possible.

The idea is to inspire moms to look beyond motherhood and find individuality in them. I write to inspire them, through my posts, my life and instances and at times even do workshops to facilitate them.

I juggle my job as a full-time blogger with her role as a full-time mother while remaining a student of many “self-improvement” courses ranging from Yoga, kickboxing, running etc. Before motherhood happened I spent a decade in the garment industry.

Today as a full-time professional blogger I have worked with several top brands in India like Pampers, Nestle, Cleartrip, Unilever, Philips, Whisper, Asus, Hamleys, etc.

Adventure in any form has a magnetic allure for me whether it is climbing Everest base camp, Mt Kilimanjaro, running marathons or walking the arduous 100 km Oxfam walk.

What is your fitness mantra?

Do what works for you but definitely pick that one or two forms of exercises to stay fit, healthy and young in body and mind.

What are some of the major misconceptions about diets and exercises?

A lot of people think that if a person is hitting the gym or running they will be fit and healthy. Good health is a more wholesome concept. It comprises not only how you look or how physically strong you are but how strong is your immune system.

How can one maintain a healthy lifestyle?

By a complete and holistic approach. From keeping a physical fitness routine to a good BMI index and optimum weight to eating healthy and building strong immunity. Also, shouldn’t ignore mental health. In fact, it should be your first priority because only a fit mind can help you keep a fit body.

How can one build a successful career in your field?

You need to have a unique voice, reinvent yourself as per the times and be consistent to survive and be successful in the field of influencing. Social media trends change every day and being relevant is very important.

What is one piece of advice you would like to give someone who wishes to lose weight?

Start making small lifestyle changes. Trying to suddenly achieve a very large goal in one go may fail you but slow changes will mean you will be able to sustain it.

Focus and read more about fat loss over weight loss to understand the difference and finally, it’s a marriage between a good healthy diet and the right exercises for you which will get you there. It is always a 70% diet and 30% exercise combo that will help you achieve your goals.

How do diets and exercise contribute to overall well being and happiness?

I think I already answered this in the previous questions. A healthy diet will not only help you lose fat, weight but also will make you feel lighter, healthier and more energetic.

Similarly, after a good workout, you should feel a rush of endorphins which makes you feel happy and gives you the energy to go through the day. Plus if you maintain a good balance, you will be healthy, feel good and look good. This is great for your overall well-being.
