Agreement entered into force after 11 bloody days between the Palestinian armed factions and Israel in which hundreds of civilians were killed and many buildings were destroyed on both sides to end the conflict by concluding the agreement and for the two parties to announce their victory in the battle.

The Palestinians and the Israelis have always been in quarrels, and disputes flare up between them, sometimes reaching an exchange of fire and missiles, an exchange of accusations between the two parties, and external support for both parties, while reaching a ceasefire agreement is mediated by Egypt several times.

Events of Sheikh Jarrah

The dispute began this time after decisions by some Israeli courts demanding that Palestinian citizens leave their homes attached to documents stating that citizens of Israel are the ones who own these homes and have bought them for decades, and now they are demanding them.

The Palestinians refused to leave their homes for the benefit of the Israelis, and at the end of the month of Ramadan, some Palestinians went and stood protesting against these decisions to start a fight between Palestinian civilians and Israelis.

Ended with the intervention of the Israeli police and the use of rubber bullets and smoke bombs that they fired at the Palestinian protesters, and then the police entered the mosque Al-Aqsa and attacking worshipers.

After that, the armed Hamas factions bombed sites in Israel after warning Israel to remove its police from the Al-Aqsa Mosque, so that the Israeli army responded with an airstrike on areas in Gaza in retaliation for what the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades did, to turn into a battle between the two sides.

Mutual Bombing Between Hamas and Israel

The armed factions affiliated with Hamas began bombing some of the positions inside Israel, in order for the Israeli army to respond with airstrikes on civilians in the Gaza areas. The mutual bombing between the two sides will continue for nearly two weeks and external calls for calm

Warning sirens pervade the airspace of Israeli cities to warn citizens of the missiles coming from Gaza, and calls from mosques in Gaza to warn civilians of the Israeli bombardment.

And in light of the failure of the Israeli Iron Dome to repel the missiles coming from Gaza, as confirmed by military analysts, it led to the injury of several sites and the killing of dozens of civilians. And injuries among them.

While the areas of Gaza exposed to the Israeli army led to the targeting of many residential buildings and commercial buildings in addition to buildings that were central to Palestinian and international journalists and media professionals, targeting these buildings and Gaza neighborhoods led to hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries.

Everyone knows the power difference between the armed Hamas factions, which are based in the Gaza-based areas, which suffer from a siege by the Israeli army, which has advanced weapons and receives military support from various countries of the world, which made it more powerful than Hamas's militants.

External Mediation

The Egyptian mediation entrusted by specialists in the Palestinian-Israeli issue, and we always saw the Egyptian efforts in seeking a ceasefire agreement in any conflict between the two parties, as happened even during the rule of the late President Hosni Mubarak.

This time also, Egyptian efforts led to reaching the agreement currently concluded between the two parties, whereby, according to the official statement from the Egyptian government, Egypt sent two delegations to Gaza and Tel Aviv in order to reach a solution that satisfies the two parties and puts an end to the conflict.

For his part, President El-Sisi contacted US President Biden and United Nations Secretary-General Guterres to put pressure on the two conflicting parties, in addition to calming the situation now, to try to find a solution that guarantees stability for both sides and rebuild Gaza, which was badly affected by the bombing from Tel Aviv.

At a time when Egypt is making tangible moves on the ground to cease fire, Egypt is seeking through its relations to reach a more stable solution, as well as finding a stable two-state solution.

In light of the presence of the Biden administration, which, according to analysts, is convinced of the two-state solution and also carried the Palestinian-Israeli issue to the international community to create A convincing solution for both sides and an end to the permanent state of war between Gaza and Tel Aviv.

The claims of victory were launched by Hamas and Tel Aviv, and each of them described himself as the winner in the last battle, but the civilians remain the ones who paid the price for this battle by displacing them, killing them, and serious injuries on both sides, and each side brings accusations to the other, and there remains hope for reaching a final solution, such as sticking to a straw in the sea.
