Dr. Reena Arora - Digital Health Cannot Overshadow Routine Check-UPS (Ayurvedic Doctor From India)

Dr Reena Arora

Digital health will grow more in the next five years because this pandemic had taught us how to remain fit and healthy even using various digital health platforms. There is no need to waste time going to a clinic or hospital, you can consult a doctor online sitting at home.

1. Tell us about your upbringing, background, and journey?

I am feeling honored to be interviewed by you. I am from a middle-class family. We are four brothers and sisters. My father was a very intelligent and humble maths teacher and headmaster of a senior school. His main aim was to teach everyone.

My mother is aware of healthy eating patterns, which means no stale food, lots of fruits in our diet, more stress on values rather than showing off. I still remember those childhood memories. I am the youngest one in my family so a bit pampered. My siblings loved me a lot.

2. Why did you choose to be a doctor and decide what you specifically want to do?

When I was in 9th class, I decided to become a doctor to serve humanity.

3. How do you expect digital health to grow over the next 5 years?

Digital health will grow more in the next five years because this pandemic had taught us how to remain fit and healthy even using various digital health platforms. There is no need to waste time going to a clinic or hospital, you can consult a doctor online sitting at home.

This also is the best way to avoid the spread of infectious diseases like covid 19. The environment will be saved because no fuel is used in going to the hospital. So in my view, digital health modes will see exponential growth in the next few years.

4. What are your concerns about Digital Health?

There are few concerns about digital health. Digital health cannot overshadow routine check-ups. Many times, personal examination of a patient is required which can give us a better understanding of a patient’s disease.

Many patients with mental disorders are to be handled in the hospital only. Moreover, healing touch to the patient would also be lacking in digital mode. So, both are important, digital as well as offline.

5. Can you let us know anyone application of Digital Health in your country which has impressed you?

Nirogstreet is one such platform in India doing very well.
