Fashion Week Runway Debut at Age Of 71 in Skimpy Swimsuit

 


Sarah Grant donned a swimsuit to make her Australian fashion week runway debut at the age of 71. In a scoop-neck black suit and cheery floral shirt, Grant walked the Aqua Blu show before crowd at Carriageworks in Sydney.


She Is Very Inspiring!!

It’s great for older girls to see a more mature person wearing an outfit because then they will relate to it, and it’s good for enterprise because child boomers are considered one of the largest demographics relating to shopping for fashion.


Grant Says:

Sporting a swimsuit wasn’t a problem for me because 70 is the new 50. We are all healthier and dwelling longer now, and also, you’ve solely obtained one physique.So, you will as properly be happy with it.It’s about empowering yourself and others, no matter of what form, measurements or age you’re.


Grant’s Career:

She is an international modelling veteran. Her first catwalk appearance was of Pierre Cardin in New Zealand at age of 16. She had also walked for brands like Valentino,Karl Lagerfeld,and Zandra Rhodes at Paris, Milan, and London fashion week.


Few Life Experiences of Sarah:

She snuck in to see a dress rehearsal and they decided to have her on their show, “She was much taller than the other girls, so they had to remove the newspaper stuffing from her shoes”.

From there the only way was up and out of the Antipodes to Europe and America, where she worked for titles like Vogue in Paris, Italy and London, and was photographer by Royal family photographed Norman Parkinson and Helmut Newton.

“They tried her to pose naked on a motorcycle, but she refused, says Grant of Newton. “I said yes, but it will cost you more perleg, and they paid for it.


Sarah Grant’s Comments on Beauty Standards Have Changed by Days:

They’re more unrealistic these days: “We were all just regular sizes-a size 10 or size 12-so there wasn’t that pressure to be slim. When the super skinny look came in it was really tragic for the business and a lot of girls ended up with issues because of it”. Today the work has shrunk in addition to the sizes.

“A lot of the magazines have closed and media outlets have shrunk, “If you don’t have a big Instagram following now, no one will look at you.

It’s a shame that people are so hooked into social media, but the positive is that models can use it to have their own agency and their own voice”.


Sarah Isn’t the Only Over 50 Making Waves in the Beauty World:

Supermodel and widow to The Cars Rocker Ric Ocasek,Paulina Porizkova,made headlines in April this year after she hit out at critics who suggested she was too old to publicly show her naked body.

To make a point, the Czech-born Swedish model, who turned 56 on April 9, shared a fully frontal nude snap from her latest shoot with Vogue Czechoslovakia.
