What if your dream of passing through the traffic above the cars comes true? In the last century, people hoped to have such a vehicle that can drive them in the sky without wings helping them to manage their work quickly without spending hours in the roads' noise.
So, have you ever heard about the new era of automobiles or the flying car? It is the evolution of supercar, the high-end vehicle species whether on the road or in the sky in the other meaning it is called a dual-mode of transportation.
Personal air vehicles, road-able aircraft, or hover cars are the numerous types of flying cars. Inventive Technology required bravery and intelligence to finally give the birth of an artistic modern transportation's way.
However, People tried several times to invent such a type and they failed because they are specialized by unique design to be different compared to the normal plane.
Back in Time, the Old Creation of Flying Cars
Throughout the years, humans permitted themselves to build up a varied number of flying cars even so the main thing that can never be cut off is its four wheels which will be occupied in the air too.
During the Pan-American Aeronautic Exposition in 1917, the innovators presented the Model 11 Autoplane but it never took flight. Later on, in the mid of the same year, a new fiberglass vehicle was shown unfortunately it crashed during a test.
Going over the 2000s Paul Moller invented the M400X Skycar in 2011. And in 2012, the “street legal” Terrafugia Transition plane took a test flight in upstate New York.
Nowadays, inventors run over the high line to collect ideas about taxis, motorbikes, and other automobiles to be the gift offered to humanity.
The race commenced in the world of transportation to always develop an invention that will lead the passion of technology also to the world of fame and creativity.
Michael Cole, the CEO of Hyundai's European unit in cooperation with Uber unveiled the curtain for an electric flying taxi shown in the last year in Las Vegas electronic show when the South Korean are working hard on the program.
Meanwhile, companies like Porsche, Daimler (DDAIF), and Toyota (TM) all boost their plans preparing for the electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) industry.
August 2020, Japanese Sky Drive conducted the first public presentation of a flying car that is taken off from Toyota Test Field and circled for around four minutes.
Flying Car Design
Smaller than the commercial plane, most of these cars are designed with rotors (the rotating assembly in a turbine) instead of wings allowing the takeoff and the landing. Moreover, they offer faster commutes of transit for individuals, especially in traffic-clogged cities.
For example, multi-rotors are made to lower the noise in hover flight while the Tilt rotors allow the efficiency in forwarding flight at a longer distance.
The invention of Professor Stefan Klein and co-founder of Klein Vision Anton Zajac the Air-Car is powered by the perfect engine making company BMW that leads a cruising speed of 120mph/ 160 horsepower and it runs a normal petrol pump.
Add to that it is companied with retractable wings, fixed-propeller of 160 HP BMW and a ballistic parachute, this flying car is equipped by a fixed propeller and it only needs 3 minutes to transform from an aircraft into a road sports vehicle.
The 35 Minutes Test Flying Car
The dream that came true, the merge of science fiction novels with movies put his land in Slovakia. The air capable can fly 35 minutes between two airports Nitra and Bratislava.
In the sky, it reaches 8,200 feet of attitudes and zoomed through the air at a maximum cruising speed of 190 km/h.
Prof Stefan Klein, the inventor of the car once he landed, he drove it straight from the runway into the city. However, he checked his car stability and maneuverability for more than 40 hours tests flights carried out 45-degree turns.
Nevertheless, his dream is never ended yet. According to Klein, he is planning for a pre-production role model flying car to cruise at 300 kilometers per hour (186 miles per hour) and have a range of 1,000 kilometers (621 miles).
In addition, he in advance projected to develop the AirCar Prototype 2 with three- four-seaters model cars of the Aircar as well as twin-engine and amphibious versions as well as he receives the EASA CS-23 aircraft certification with an M1 road permit.
The operation needs a regulatory framework that takes years however it is done in crowded airspace near small drones and traditional airplanes.
It doesn’t stop here; such an invention requires several trials including some companies that explore the potential of flying vehicles despite reliability and safety.
The era of dual transportation opens its door to a new category of vehicles and provides freedom to cars when science fiction goes to the surface in the world.
Opinions come and go with and against the creation of this vehicle but firstly the permit of Klein that he is glad to have the authority and the legislation to fly such a car in the air in the hope to achieve his vision by offering to others the dream f having a flying car.
Dr. Branko Sarh, a senior technical fellow at Boeing Co said that it is not only about enthusiasm, courage, and creative spirit but a long way of developing, engineering and professional knowledge.
Further, Lubomir Palcak from the Transport Research Institute in Zilina says that he is in doubt to use flying cars in the future but the idea is brilliant and this topic deserves to arise.
As it is well known that technology tests seek the sacrifice of lives, time, and patience to end by something special that will light up the world again therefore people should be more cautious, and hopefully one day this creation be real and safe for everyone.
