Simran Dhingra - Don’t Compare and Make Content That Comes Out of Your Heart and Doesn’t Just Be a Part of the Crowd (Fashion Blogger From India)

Simran Dhingra

I always wanted all the girls around me to be confident in their own skin like my sister and even my cousins.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I have wanted to create content since 2017 and I even started in 2017 but wasn’t confident in my own skin so quit creating content after two weeks but in 2020 lockdown, I rediscovered my own self and it may sound cliché but found my calling and what makes me nervous and excited at the same time.

It has just been a year creating content but I feel a different level of satisfaction after the shoot day. The journey has just started and I know I have a long way
to go. It wasn’t easy but it was worth it.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram?

I always wanted all the girls around me to be confident in their own skin like my sister and even my cousins. They all are thin and they still complain about how they avoid wearing such outfits and I hated that.

You have one life and God has granted you such a beautiful body but you still always complain? I use my platform to pass on this message that all girls should be confident in their own skin and they should own the outfit rather than their outfit owning them.

3. Do you think that there will be a new style statement or fashion obsession with the new normal? If so what would be your choice
and why?

Yes, there is a new fashion statement that resonates with the new normal- Kaftaans and Joggers with the statement top. New normal has brought up a notion of comfortable fashion and that's what kaftan dresses and joggers are all about.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be a fashion blogger today?

It is but not in the starting. It all depends on your growth and your consistency but you have to hustle every day. After 2-3 years, you can be financially stable in this career if all goes well.

5. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

I am a big follower of the Bhagavad Gita and it has taught me the biggest mantra for life-To keep doing work and not care about the results/money etc. It is very difficult to follow in modern life but whenever I am low I tend to remember this.

6. Who is your favourite fashion blogger and why?

Xeniaa Adonts and Masoom Minawala because in their content I can see that they just enjoy their work and they both just radiate positivity and happiness.

7. Do you have any tips for people who want to join this field?

Just one tip - Don’t compare and make content that comes out of your heart and doesn’t just be a part of the crowd.

8. Which is your favourite book and why?

My favourite book is Ikagai because that book talks about your ultimate purpose and how that purpose gives you fire and it has nothing to do with anyone. It is just you and your purpose. That is soo empowering.
