Know who you are and have the courage, to be honest with yourself - face yourself with all the bad things you don't want to look at, accept them and work on it until you like what you see.
1. Tell us more about your company and your journey.
I'm the founder of Yasmine of July network and Business Club. It started 10 years ago as Dubai business mornings and grew into an international business network with businesses from all over the world, Business Club by membership, Master's network and we have public events that we mostly organize together with our partners in beauty, wellness, food, fashion and other industries.
We also work with various government bodies in UAE as there is strong support and initiatives for the businesses from the UAE government.
2. How did you come up with this idea and go about executing it?
I worked 15 years in such corporations as Toyota, Johnson & Johnson, Honeywell, to name a few, in Europe, Russia and Kazakhstan and gained a strong and diverse business experience.
Eventually, I wanted to create something that will embrace the best skills I got from such different industries- automotive, oil&gas, pharmaceutical, mass media, luxury.
3. What has been your biggest challenge that you faced and how did you overcome that?
My biggest challenge was and will be only one- to compete with myself yesterday so that tomorrow comes better and bigger. When any success of Yasmine yesterday means zero level for Yasmine of tomorrow.
4. What do you think are the most important qualities of a successful entrepreneur?
1. Honesty with yourself - when your inner is equal to your outer facade when you act and talk as you think.
2. Self-control - ability to control emotions whether it's a million $ profit or bankruptcy. It's a very powerful skill that needs lifetime training for anyone in big business.
3. Vision - To let things go when they have to: business or relationship, doesn't matter. When new comes, old has to go where old is your comfort, money, stability, etc.
5. What are some of the most important factors for running a successful business?
Balance of the mind-body-action, ability to see everything as a multi-dimensional world, not a 2d we live in. Change yourself if you want to change anything instead of trying to change people.
6. What are your tips for first time and aspiring entrepreneurs?
Know who you are and have the courage, to be honest with yourself - face yourself with all the bad things you don't want to look at, accept them and work on it until you like what you see. Once you know who you are - you will know your true goals, dreams and you will know your path.
7. How can one overcome a hurdle of lack of funds when starting up?
There is an abundance of funds in the world. Once you have something truly valuable to this world - it will offer you all the funds it has without your efforts. If you search for funds- you search in the wrong direction. All you need is within you. Not outside.
