About the Movie - Personal Verdict

This movie can make you crazy. It is not a simple, straight, and lucid story that muster the whole movie but a robust theatrical experimental. The movie has touched many aspects of a person’s life in the social domain.

Actually, the entire movie is based on how a serious mental illness can transform a mental patient into a horribly crazy killer who is just killing people for fun and thrill. There is no happy ending to the movie, rather it ends with a blown away revelation.

All the actors in the movie, especially the lead actress, Kangana Ranaut, worked so diligently though her character was quite challenging and tough to play.

Her character, Bobby, is shown as a voiceover artist who is mentally not usual. The character brings all the characters in her real life, for those she gives her voice as a voiceover artist.

Mental illness is one of the worst illnesses that either give new aspects of life or shatter the entire life. Along with the mental illness how many other absurd judgments people make about all mental patients are anyway more disturbing than their illness. And that’s what the movie has shown.

The direction, cinematography, and theatricality are going in sync complementing all the brilliant work done by every actor in the movie. The characters were nicely portrayed in all the possible senses.

The movie in the first half shows the protagonist's background, who was a sufferer of rifts and misunderstanding amidst her parents. And that was one of the major reasons behind her mental sickness. Such an important but unhighlighted social problem in the Indian Society that is making it hollow, shown by the makers by making it more impactful for all of us to ponder.

The other lead actor Rajkumar Rao played the character of Keshav in the first half and then Shravan in the second half. Actually, he came to live on lease in Bobby’s home with his wife who is also the cousin of Bobby.

Suddenly, her cousin died in a bonfire. Bobby blamed her cousin’s husband as she was suspicious about him earlier. The case gets closed.

In the second half, she again meets the same guy as the husband of her other cousin. The same was about to happen with her other cousin who is also pregnant. But she reaches at a very right time and saves her from the real mental patient who was pretending to be normal right from the beginning.

Moreover, the movie is produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, and Shailesh R Singh. It is not a big-budget movie.

The music is given separately by Arjuna Harjai, Rachita Arora, and Tanishq Bagchi for different songs. The music in the movie is also supporting the situations and it absolutely fits in all the respective situations.

The Bottom Line

The crux is that we should never get judgemental so early that it dampens the curiosity to know more about anyone or anything. The film has meticulously highlighted the life of a mental patient with all his/her sufferings, imaginations, and curiosities.

The film has got many good reviews and ratings from critics as well as from audiences. It is a commendable experiment that altogether brings a wave of newness to Indian cinema. The film is absolutely watch-worthy.
