Pushkin EH - The Most Beautiful Ideas Come To Me in Front of the Sea or During a Walk in the Woods (Artist, Sculptor, and Author From India)

My advice to aspiring artists is: do not stop dreaming, believe in yourself, do a lot of research and constantly put a lot of effort to achieve their goals, also considering the possibility of having to make many sacrifices. It’s a very long way and sometimes very difficult but it’s also full of pleasures and satisfactions

Tell us more about your background and journey.

I was born and currently live in a small village in front of the sea on the northwest coast of Italy and when I am not in my studio intent on creating I like spending my days surrounded by nature, doing sports like tennis or trekking, or meditating and when I have the possibility traveling, all activities that help me to expand my artistic vision and give me the right incentives to realize my works.

When did you decide you wanted to be an artist?

Since I was a child I had a very strong artistic inclination, I drew a lot, I shot polaroids, and after high school, I knew that I would work in the artistic field but I could not decide so I graduated from Turin in art history and then I studied three years photography; During the studies, I’ve started my artistic career selling my one-pieces at markets around Italy It was only after this journey that I began my work as an illustrator.

Is it a financially stable career?

For some years I have managed to make my passion my main job and time by the time I acquired commissions from important companies like Estee Lauder, Belmond, Repubblica di San Marino, which now allow me to live while cultivating my artistic inclination.

Who is your favorite painter/artist and why?

There are many, but currently, my favorite is Leonora Carrington. I love all her cultural background that is reflected in her works and makes you enter a fantastic visionary world from which it is difficult to get out. This month I bought also her tarot’s book and every time is a great source of inspiration, contemplating her work I decided to create my own tarot deck

What is your inspiration for creating art?

Trips are often a great inspiration for my works, but when I can not travel I try to stay very close to nature, in fact, usually the most beautiful ideas come to me in front of the sea or during a walk in the woods. Another source of inspiration books, I really love spending time in my studio browsing books and researching.
