About The Director
Apoorva Gandhi, the director of this mind-boggling short film has got such amazing skills to set the scenes so well that it compels the viewer to watch it more. This is not the first time hers; rather she has directed many other short films and ad films.
Moreover, she has worked with many prestigious brands that have given her work better recognition.
Basically, she belongs from Delhi and has completed her schooling from Delhi only. She has a bachelor's degree in film and video communication. She has not restricted herself to only one dimension of this industry but has explored other aspects too like production, designing, scripting, and much more.
Her work is quite noticeable and worth watching which can be absolutely seen in this piece of art created by her.
About The Film
The film is quite different but absolutely real. There are so many relatable and appealing issues that really need our attention. But somehow either we skip them or they get suppressed by other predicaments. This movie addresses one of those issues very deeply and consciously. Let’s not spill the beans. Just look at how it starts.
So all of a sudden in the very first scene you would see a woman lying on the bed in a very tired and restless condition. This creates so much inquisitiveness along with ambiguity. The woman here is Isha, played by Kusha Kapila. It all starts like it's about to end.
Then it moves to flashback to make it all clear. So Isha shifted into a new house recently and she lives alone. It was just a couple days that passed and the day came when she met Vivaan.
One day, somebody rang the bell and a boy was standing at the door with a major wound on his palm that was none but the second lead character Vivaan.
That was the first time they were meeting each other but absolutely not the last. He asked for help as he was wounded and bleeding. And that’s how it all started. They came closer and started living together in Isha’s house.
He was so enticing for her. She was just melting like ice. Gradually, their relationship became more intensely physical, intimate, and extreme.
Vivaan was satisfying Isha in all possible ways. But by the time all of this transformed into a trap. As Vivaan would never go out and not let her go. He somehow trapped her into her own house. Even she couldn’t talk to her friends on call in front of Vivaan. She was becoming so helpless and frustrated.
She only used to have those two hours in the morning when he goes jogging. Every single day, very eagerly, she used to wait for her maid as that was the only exposure she used to get.
One day while talking to her friend she discussed how she is hauling this relationship so her friend recommended one of his known ‘Gaurav’ and asked her to share whatever she is facing.
She talked about this to him and started feeling healed and released. And one day finally Gaurav advised her to kill Vivaan as that’s the only way to end this. And it all happened! She cried, screamed as she was also attached to him.
Now, the thing which hardly any viewer could sense is that ‘he’ none but Vivaan wasn’t real. It was just in her head. It was an extreme and detailed imagination of hers which means she was suffering from hallucination. It took a month after to believe that he wasn’t really for her.
The Bottom Line
I would like to appreciate everyone’s effort in the making of this. Mainly, the dialogues and screenplay are the tools that hold the viewers till the end. The actors also acted so real and simple but it was more of a story-driven short film.
It highlights the state of mind of those people who suffer from such mental disbalances. If they are not taken care of properly and urgently they tend to become intimidating not only for others but for themselves also.
I would surely recommend this short film to all. So, do watch it, and don’t worry you do not need any of such a subscription. It is easily accessible from youtube. Search it and watch it.
My ratings for this short film would be 4 out of 5 ratings.
