Laal Singh Chadha (Aamir Khan), an autistic man with a wide emotional range, is the protagonist of the movie as he tells the story of significant historical events in Indian history.

The Emergency, the 1983 Cricket World Cup, Operation Blue Star, the Rath Yatra, and the 1999 Kargil War are some of the major historical events depicted in this motion picture.

Shah Rukh Khan reportedly makes a cameo appearance in Laal Singh Chadha, which was filmed in more than a hundred different locales in India.

Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor, became involved in a controversy a few days before its premiere. On social media, hashtags urging a boycott of the movie became popular.

According to reports, the hashtag "boycott" became popular after some people on the Internet found quotes from Aamir's 2015 interview in which he discussed the "increasing intolerance" in the nation. "As an individual, as a citizen of this nation, we read in the papers what is occurring, we see it on the news, and certainly, I have been frightened," Aamir had stated during an event. I cannot refute it. There have been a few incidences that have alarmed me.

He continued, "When I talk to Kiran at home, she asks if we should leave India. Kiran made a terrible and significant remark there. She worries for her kid because of the atmosphere of the society nowadays."

Later, Aamir stated that his comments had been misinterpreted and that he hadn't meant to hurt anyone. "This mistake caused me pain, and it caused pain for many other people as well. I attribute this to the media because you all misrepresented what I said. Please refrain from doing this, I beg of you all," Aamir urged.

I never mentioned that, let me assure you of that. I was born in India, and I shall also pass away there. I never considered relocating outside of the nation. Kiran and I won't give it any thought. I get homesick after a two-week absence from my homeland.

The Aamir Khan-starring movie PK was the subject of a debate before it was released in 2014; Hindu organisations demanded that the movie be banned for allegedly offending religious feelings. Numerous organisations around the nation have complained, claiming that the film ridiculed Hindu gods and contained "very inflammatory" material.

Despite the criticism, PK went on to gross over Rs 832 crore at the global box office.

Aamir Khan’s meeting with the Turkish first lady

Aamir Khan's encounter with Turkey's First Lady Emine Erdogan, while he was filming Laal Singh Chaddha, has also been brought up by trolls. On social media, Erdogan posted some images with the actor and wrote, "In Istanbul, I had the honour of meeting the renowned Indian actor, director, and filmmaker @aamir khan. I was pleased to read that Aamir chose to finish filming his most recent movie, "Laal Singh Chaddha," in various regions of Turkey. I'm excited about it!"

The fact that Turkey had offered its support to Pakistan and Kashmir offended some people. Following the riots in Delhi in 2020, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a former Turkish prime minister, denounced the "massacres" of Muslims. "Currently, India has developed into a nation where killings are common. What murders? Muslim mass murders. Who? the Hindus ", he had remarked in a speech.

Boycotting a film just because a single person related to it has done something wrong even though that bad thing has nothing to do with a film is completely useless.
