Feminism. The infinite beauty of Feminism is sadly not realized by many. And in this domain of many, there are not only men but women too which is quite surprising and disappointing at the same time. Today in this article we are going to discuss why few women misuse this boon when most of them are even not so privileged and lucky to see the light of day.
Feminism: Detouring Or Aggravating?
The idea of feminism which originated from the feminist movement took various shapes and forms as it ventured through the world. Thanks to this feminism gave rise to Many feminist writers and activists who made us realize what is feminism in it's true and purest form.
Coming to the notion, do women misuse feminism? If they do so, what's the reason for it? Is it associated with any kind of selfish gain? Contradictory to this above-posed question many women have taken feminism to great heights.
But, some women often misuse this liberty. For instance, very few say that indeed women have filed false complaints of domestic violence whose burden the husband and in-laws had to bear. According to sources, a horrific incident took place in Amity Noida, where two girls not only asked a gang of 25-30 goons to beat up the victims over a lame parking argument but filed false molestation charges against them. Currently one of the victims is dead and another one is still battling between life and death in the ICU.
The mentality of Indian Society is such that if a woman is raped, the sympathy for that woman increases twice, but ever heard that if a man is being raped, people come up with sympathy for them? Rarely, very rare. This is because we have made up our minds that such heinous heinous crimes are only committed by men and when they are subjected to such heinous victims where women have been rapists it is quite shocking, and in cases like this complaints are not being registered or taken into account because there are no such rape laws for men in this country and women end up taking leverage of such issues.
Time and again dowry was and is considered to be an offense, where a woman was tortured to death for not bringing dowry with her by her in-laws and husband. This led to the enactment of an act known as the dowry prohibition act and to date this act has been the most misused act by women, where women harassed and threatened husbands to extract money from husbands during times of divorce.
Feminism: Leverage Or Manipulation
Feminism gives you the scope of being vocal about equality in every terms whether it is for a man or woman but where this voice goes when a 20-year-old is offered by a 50 or 60 man, where this voice goes when you claim that it's your body and your choice but then why you go on forcing your boyfriends, brothers you have great physic. Why do you ask men to man up every time they cry? You rant about all men want us sex but criticizes movie like Pyar ka punchnama which generalizes female behavior.
Why is it so obvious and generalized when a man gets slapped by women and not when a woman is being slapped by men? Is it the preconceived notion that a man must have done some kind of explicit behavior that is derogatory to women? If this is the preconceived notion then why don't you think the same way when a woman is being slapped by men, why does it go down to abuse and disrespect to women and why not to men? Since when respect became gender specific?
Being a feminist you demand equal rights but don't mind getting seats into universities or colleges through reservations. No feminist voice speaks of the fact why women are given fewer jail sentences compared to a man for the same crime. Have we approved that we, women, have a weaker mental state and health than men?
Conclusion
When Deepika Padukone claimed that having an extramarital affair and sleeping outside the marriage is her choice and every woman was convicted for it. My question is what kind of equality are we trying to achieve here? Is it about bringing women to par with men or bringing our standards down with some of the men and women? Is it about equality of opportunity or equality of crimes? If feminism is about equality of opportunity between men and women then we should also stand out for the advantage we get over men.
