Mudeshwari Temple - The Oldest Temple In The World

This is one of the oldest temples in the world. It is located in the Kamurai district in Bihar. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Shakti. It was built in 3-4 BC. The idea of Vishnu is believed to be disappeared around the 7th century, it is said that at that time Shaivism was the most popular religion.

You can go to this temple through the road of cities like Patna, Varanasi Ann Gaya.

Architecture Designs

This temple was built according to the nagara style of architecture, it is the most famous type of architectural structure in Bihar. The dose and windows on the 4th side of the temple and small statues on the other 4 walls. The temple tower has been destroyed and a roof was built during the renovation in the presiding years. 

The interior of the temple has amazing designs and rich carvings. At the entrance, you will find a door and the carving of Ganga, Yamuna and other murtis. In this temple, other gods are worshipped like a lot of Vishnu, Ganesha and Surya. The idea of Devi Maheshwari has almost 10 hands holding symbols riding on a Buffalo.

The famous festival celebrated in this temple is Ram Navami, Shivaratri n Navratri.

Historical Evidence

This temple is observed by an archaeological survey of India and they were the ones that claimed it to eat one of the oldest temples in the world. It is even stated that this temper existed during the Gupta empire ruled era.
