The Titans of Snake

It was just a tiny snake just 13-14 cm long made me think about the size of the biggest snake that ever lived. This leads me to millions of years back for research to know about the most massive-sized snake species that ever existed on our planet.

Titanoboa

Titanoboa (Titanonoboa Cerrejonensis), was a species that lived around above million years ago and went extinct. This could be possibly 13-14 meters long and may weigh above 1000 kgs.

The massive size of the Titanoboa is highly tied up with the temperature of the world during its period. 

Since it is a cold-blooded animal it survives only in the high-temperature region. The region that it lived in must be a temperature of around 32-33 degrees Celsius, which is a lot hotter than the equivalent temperatures of modern throws typical forests. By the way,  We should thank nature for the reduction of the temperature. 

We Got to Know About It:

In 1994 researchers found a fossil fuel which has never been found before and the researchers had no idea about what it is. It was left hanging with no further steps but fortunately, again other researchers from Cambodia found some bones which initially researchers thought were a crocodile that lived a long ago. 

Later after further research, they confirmed it was not a crocodile’s bone. Then they found its spinal cord which is highly similar to the Anaconda’s spinal cord but still researchers couldn’t accept that because of its massive size. Because up to date there was no record of a snake of such a size. After deep research, it was confirmed that is a species of snake.

It was Titanoboa which is said to be the ancestor species of the Anaconda or Boa family. But the spinal cord is not enough to get the complete detail of the species. They needed all the main parts of it, especially the head. So they kept their search process and as they wanted they got bones of the Titanoboa but part by part. Overall they found 3 skulls of the Titanoboa.

The image you could see above is the spinal cord of Titanoboa. The confusion for the researchers and the scientists is how could snakes grow such huge sizes.

The image pasted above isn’t a stone that is collected in the garbage, It is the comparison of the spinal cords of the Anaconda and The Titanoboa. Look at how huge the spinal cord of Titanoboa is in right than the spinal cord of Anaconda in right. Just imagine the total size of the Titanoboa then. This took a long time for the researchers to accept this fact.

The reason for not getting the head is, the heads of humans are connected by bones with their bodies, whereas the heads of animals are connected with their bodies by tissues. And also their bones of them are extremely thin and they just broke are disappeared after their death.

A spinal cord specialist Jonathon gave a statement, Titanoboa originated after 10 million years of dinosaurs went extinct. And also he said, 60 million years ago an asteroid which is 100km longer and bigger was fallen on the earth and destroyed the complete dinosaur species, then the titanoboa was born later.

The Massive Size:

The temperature of the world during the Titanoboa time is too high then now. The crocodiles and snakes size which are living in our period are comparatively very small, because of the reduction in the temperature of our world. So maybe the size of humans also may be bigger if we lived in their period.

The main reason they went extinct is the reduction of temperature because we humans could regulate the temperature of our body but for all the species of snakes that ever existed from Titanoboa to the king cobra, none of them could do. And also Titanoboa might be eaten by the other animals when it's born or when it's small.

Kronosaurus & Titanoboa:

Kronosaurus, it was lived in a different period but still, we could compare this with Titanoboa. Kronosaurus almost looks like the crocodile that exists now, it is 10 meters long which means in size it is smaller than Titanoboa. But in weight, it is 13 times bigger than Titanoboa. This could live only in water and could survive only in a cold region.

But the major similarities between them are, they both are predators. which means if you get caught in their eyes then no other way that you could escape from them.

Are They Still Alive:

Still, some tribes living in amazon believe that the Titanoboa still exist and even the tribal people worship them. We don’t know whether it surely 100% went extinct because we are just humans we weren’t completely explored the complete world. So still there might be some chances for the tribes that they believe is true.

Even some individuals claimed that they saw the Titanoboa in real inside the amazon but there is no solid evidence for their statements so it's just staying as they stated.

But, If it exists then it must be living in the hotel area of the current period which are Columbia, Brazil, Venezuela, Peru, and Parana. But still, it's just an assumption. If we ask, is there any chance for the return of Titanoboa? The answer will be confusing because we cannot say No. It may come if our planet got to the old temperature in which they could live, then there are few chances for their arrival.

Final Shot:

We may also be in a  museum after millions of years because the evolved humans may be more intelligent than us then. Evolution played a huge role in history. Everything will evolve, and everything will change. Because It is the justice of Nature!
