Do you know the first prosthetic body part brought to life through artificial toes from ancient Egypt? This store was previously said to be the earliest known as Protestsis. The early prosthetic leg was unique as they were more decorative than the Egyptian toes called the true prosthetic device.
Early Age Design
During early age design, several such technologies are used now. The artificial limbs used to move forward a little up to the point they were directed. A German night who served with the holy Roman emperor Charles v had one of them.
These artificial limbs were very expensive but allowed people who had lost limbs to continue a fighting career. Earlier artificial limbs were given to people who had war backgrounds. The main purpose of making these limbs was to fight.
After some centuries there were many people and casualties found in the American Civil War which caused a lot of demand for artificial limbs. Many people studied to design their prosthetics as response 2 limiting the capabilities of limbs offered at that time.
One example is James hanger who decided on his artificial arms after losing them towards the war.
In 19 century, the prosthetic design had begun especially giving new effects to artificial limbs. These artificial limbs looked more real and became incredibly famous. Widespread fingers index, middle, and ring fingers smaller than usual EC.
Modern Times
After World War One there were many casualties found, so the government started massively producing artificial limbs. The US army hospital produced a large number of artificial limbs for returning veterans. Later new technology started to develop After World war I. Dw Dorrance
Invented the split hook artificial hand shortly after the first war. It became very popular among the labours after the war who were able to return to work using the limbs because it could manipulate objects and give them a good grip. And later it continued developing through technology.
