Vivan Manglani - I Believe That I Have a Gift, and if I Use It Just for Myself, I Wouldn’t Be Able to Face God (Instagram Influencer with 36k Followers)

Everyone is an influencer, not because everyone is posting something but as a human, you tend to get influenced by people you hang out with/see the most.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I had a well-provided childhood and never had to worry about food and shelter (very grateful for that). My parents did their best to make me what I am today (yeah, I know I am still no one, but it'll all make sense in a few years). I started making videos the moment I had a mobile phone, i.e., I only bought it from working in the summer at a general store. I still remember how proud I was while giving my salary to my dad so that he could get a phone for me (I was 16 at that moment). I was about to fly to Canada for further studies, but I stopped because a few months before, I joined a theatre where I got to know what I wanted to do, and then I threw myself at it.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what it is about?

Honestly, it is not about something particular. It's just an edited part of what I go through in life in presentable terms. And I believe that is the key to growth. You simply can't create things you don't give a shit about, so I create things that happen to me.

3. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

It may be very different from normal, but it is just what I truly believe. To make my loved ones the best life I can and make life easier for as many people as possible, including all aspects of life, i.e., comfort, financial stability, emotional support, etc. I believe that I have a gift, and if I use it just for myself, I wouldn't be able to face God.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?

If you want a consistent income? NO. But the waves that are present in this industry are way more extreme than any of the industries out there. You won't make a single rupee for three years straight; you are struggling to pay your bills, you are skipping meals to save money, and the next moment you realize you own the society you live in. It's not at all consistent; it's extremely unpredictable. I've seen people who tried the best they could and had to leave because of family pressure, and I've seen people who literally can buy a car every month. So it is simply not easy. If you want to sustain yourself as a content creator, you should be good at money management and ready for the waves.

5. How would you distinguish the term blogger from influencer?

I won't. Everyone is an influencer, not because everyone is posting something but as a human, you tend to get influenced by people you hang out with/see the most.
