Patience is necessary because success doesn't happen overnight; it takes time to grow your channel and gain recognition |
1. Tell us about your background and journey.
I started making comedy videos on YouTube when I was in the 6th grade, inspired by watching Amit Bhadana. I was around 12 years old and had a phone that my siblings and I shared. My family background is in the clothing business, so initially, my dad didn't support the idea of making videos, preferring that I focus on my studies and look into the family business instead.
Being from a business-oriented background (I'm Baniya), this was a major issue. Despite facing criticism, mockery from friends, and even teachers trolling me in school, my mom and sister always supported me. Eventually, when TikTok emerged, I transitioned to making comedy content there and gradually gained popularity and income. This convinced my dad to believe in my efforts, so I used my first earnings to buy a phone and continued to grow my channel.
2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create content and how did you start?
Mainly, I wanted to start creating comedy videos and my own content, so I began by drawing inspiration and ideas from Amit Bhadana's videos! The journey from a small phone to an iPhone was challenging, but I persevered day and night to achieve it. I managed to build two TikTok pages with over 250k followers each. Instagram wasn't as popular back then, mainly for posting, but gradually, I gained followers there too. Alongside comedy content, I started vlogging in 2018. I then invested in a self-made camera, and slowly but surely, my work began.
3. Is Vlogging and YouTube content creation a financially sustainable career?
Certainly, YouTube vlogging and content creation are excellent sources for generating revenue, but it's only possible when you possess discipline, patience, and consistency. Creating engaging content consistently is key to building a loyal audience base and attracting advertisers. It requires discipline to stick to a content schedule and maintain quality standards.
Patience is necessary because success doesn't happen overnight; it takes time to grow your channel and gain recognition. Consistency is crucial for retaining viewers and keeping them engaged with your content. By consistently uploading high-quality videos and interacting with your audience, you can build a successful vlogging career and generate revenue through various monetization methods like ads, sponsorships, and merchandise sales.
4. Who is your favorite creator and why?
My favorite creators are only Amit Bhadana and BB Ki Vines because I've seen them rise from zero to hero and witnessed the rewards of their hard work. So, both of them are my favorites, and their approach to their work is very unique!
5. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?
For creating content, daily innovation and having good equipment also matter because both quality and quantity are important. So, gradually, I upgraded from using a phone to a camera and improved the overall production quality. I set up my own studio and built a team, and then we kept working on it consistently!
6. What does your typical day look like?
My daily routine is a bit different because I'm a Baniya. I wake up early in the morning, get ready, perform my prayers, and then head to the shop. I do some work there and if I have time, I work on scripting and search for content ideas. I dedicate three days a week specifically for shooting videos for YouTube.
7. Which is your favorite book and why?
My favorite book is "Karma" by Sadhguru because your actions determine who you are and what kind of person you become. Karma is everything; as you sow, so shall you reap!
8. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring creators?
I'll just say this: Keep going. People will talk no matter what category you consider yourself in. Their job is to talk, yours is to listen, and then ignore them. Just keep working hard!
