Q. Your content feels vibrant and expressive. How important is personality in standing out in the beauty space today?
Personality is everything. Today, tutorials, reviews, and recommendations are everywhere, so they aren't what make someone stand out anymore.
What truly creates a lasting connection is your personal touch. My energy and my vibe are what people relate to. They don't just follow me for a makeup look, they follow me because they feel like they know me. That kind of connection is something no trend or product can ever replace.
Q. What inspired you to start sharing your journey publicly, and how has that intention evolved?
When I started, I barely knew anything about makeup. Kajal was the only product I was comfortable using, and even that didn't always turn out well. I genuinely believed makeup made me look worse.
As I slowly experimented with simple techniques, I realized there were so many girls just like me who felt intimidated by beauty. That's when my purpose changed. It stopped being just about creating content and became about making people feel seen and showing them that you don't need to know everything before you begin.
Q. How do you handle comparison, especially in an industry where creators are constantly visible?
Comparison is natural, especially in an industry where everyone's work is constantly visible.
Whenever I see someone growing, my first thought is actually motivation. But if comparison starts feeling personal, I take a step back and remind myself of my own journey. Everything I've achieved, from building a 200K community to winning awards and working with brands, has come through my own hard work.
Remembering that helps me stop comparing myself with others and focus on my own path.
Q. What has been your most surprising learning about your audience?
I've learned that my audience is far more thoughtful than people often assume.
One of the happiest moments for me was when followers started recreating my makeup looks and sharing their pictures with me. That showed me they weren't just watching, they were genuinely learning.
Another memorable moment came when I posted an experimental, unfinished look that I wasn't even confident about. The overwhelming response taught me that people don't expect perfection, they appreciate honesty and authenticity.
Q. Do you think beauty content today is more about transformation or self-acceptance?
I believe it's both.
When I experiment with bold makeup or mix traditional jewellery with modern looks, I'm not trying to become someone else I'm celebrating who I already am.
The problem begins when beauty is marketed through insecurity. Beauty should encourage self-expression, not make people feel they need fixing. That's always been my philosophy.
Q. What's one thing you've discovered about yourself through content creation?
Consistency.
After creating more than 1,300 posts, I sometimes look back and surprise myself. None of it happened overnight, it was simply one post, one day, one step at a time.
Content creation has also helped me see myself differently. Over time, I've grown into someone I genuinely admire, and that's probably the most unexpected gift this journey has given me.
Q. How do you keep your content feeling fresh and not repetitive?
My biggest rule is to think like my audience.
If I'm shooting or editing something and I don't find it engaging myself, I simply don't post it. If I'm not excited by the content, I know viewers won't be either.
That honest self-check has become my biggest filter for creating fresh, engaging content.
Q. If your vibe had to be turned into a GRWM soundtrack, what songs or energy would define it?
Definitely the fun, energetic Bollywood music from the '90s and early 2000s.
Songs like Aankhiyon Se Goli Maare, Uchi Hai Building, and Karle Baby Dance Wance perfectly match my personality. They're lively, nostalgic, playful, and full of energy. That's exactly how I want my GRWM videos to feel, fun, carefree, and unapologetically desi.
