1. Rahul Gandhi likely to contest from South India too: Congress leaders of Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have requested Rahul Gandhi to contest from south india too. He has although not taken any decision yet. His contesting from south will boost Congress's seats from south of India.

2. Modicare or Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries to get best oncologists access: Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries will soon be able to access best cancer expert advice digitally and won't have to travel to seek expert opinions. 

3. Karambir Singh appointed chief of naval staff: Karambir Singh has been appointed as chief of naval staff and is succeeding Sunil Lanba who is due for retirement. This time government went in for a merit based approach bypassing the seniority for selection.

4. Gunmen enter Somalia government building, killing many people: The Shabad, an Islamist militant group has claimed attacking a government building in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. Nearly 15 casualties have been reported including the 2 ministers who have been killed. Shabad is Africa's most active Islamist militant group and have linkages with Al Quaeda. 

5. Around 10 lakh people march in London demanding 2nd referendum on Brexit: Amidst government's poor handling of Brexit, many protestors marched in central London demanding a 2nd referendum. Many actually hoping for a chance to reverse the previous referendum. Theresa May mentioned about her determination to deliver Brexit and blamed the delay on the parliamentary deadlock.
