We all have grown up watching cartoons and other animated stuff, which has, to some extent, shaped us into what we are today. The hidden messages, the wonders, and the nostalgia associated still warm up our hearts and give us a feeling of solace. Among all these animations, anime, Japanese animation has always been very different from the typical animations. Covering almost every genre possible, be it yaoi (boys love) or action, anime hasn't lacked in any field. Those who think that anime is only for children should rethink, as not only are there specific anime made which are focused on adults in every genre, but there is a whole theme of "dark anime," which challenge the stereotypical point of view.

Anime has always been an integral part of our childhood and continues to be. We grow with anime, and anime becomes what it is through us. Sometimes it is this magical world that makes the real world easy to understand (all the weebs/otakus would be able to relate with this). It can act as a comfort zone that extends its hands to give you solace from your problems, and it can also act as a guide to encourage you to do what you need to do.

It is something that normalizes the apparently abnormal and makes it seem that even the impossible can be possible. If you are not being able to understand what I am trying to say, then why don't you try watching anyone of the anime which we have shortlisted for you? And for those who have already watched tons of anime, I can guarantee it will be a good list for reminiscing. So, here is the list of the top 7 all-time favourite anime (In no particular order)-

"In order for something to be obtained, something of equal value must be lost."
Adapted from the Fullmetal Alchemist manga written by Hiromu Arakawa and produced by Bones, it is the second anime television series based on Fullmetal Alchemist. The story shows two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, in search of a Philosopher's Stone after their attempt to revive their deceased mother goes awry and leaves them in damaged physical forms. A Philosopher's Stone is a mythical relic that allows an alchemist to overcome the Law of Equivalent Exchange. The anime is so engrossing that it feels as if each episode ended quickly. Some moments leave you smiling, laughing, sad, and just simply amazed. The clear-cut plot, smart execution of twists, crisp animation, superb voice acting, and thoughtful character development makes it a must-watch for any anime lover.

The notebook allows the user to kill anyone whose face they have seen by writing the victim's name in the notebook, but it has its perks. So, Light attempts to uses this notebook to create and rule a world cleansed of evil. The concept of this anime itself is unique (imagine killing Baghdadi by writing his name in the notebook). The art and character development add on to the likability of the anime, making it a must-watch for anyone.

This 220-episode long anime series release by Masashi Kishimoto in 2002 tells the story of a young boy, Naruto Uzumaki. He aspires to gain recognition from his peers and dreams of becoming the Hokage (the leader of his village). The story wins the heart of its audience by showcasing the struggle (with lots of comedy and spice) of the hyperactive and knuckle-headed ninja whose ninja way is to never go back on his words.

Based on Hajime Isayama's manga, this 25-episode long anime series is set up in a world where humanity lives within territories surrounded by enormous walls that protect them from gigantic man-eating humanoids referred to as titan which seem to be eating more for pleasure than for hunger. The protagonist of this anime is Eren Yeager, who himself witnesses a horrific personal loss and decides to dedicate his life to the eradication of Titans. The suspense builds up in this anime is fantastic. There is a fine balance between action, dialogues, humour, and tragedy. The animation and voice acting are so good that you will find yourself completely absorbed in the anime. And the music serves as the cherry on the top of the cake; it makes your muscles puffed and strikes the right chords.

It continues the adventures of adult Goku, who, along with his companions, defends the earth against villains ranging from aliens to androids. The life of Goku's son, Gohan, and the development of his rival Vegeta also form an essential part of the series. It is one of the earliest popular series which helped spread the art of anime in the World and is a legend in itself. The intense fighting, light humour, and some sci-fi and supernatural elements with how the characters develop (like they can easily make your blood boil during the extreme situations) make it a complete package of entertainment.

It is set two and a half years after the Naruto series ends, and Naruto Uzumaki leaves Konohagakure, the Hidden Leaf Village, for intense training.
