1) Tell us more about your role & responsibilities at your college.

I am Ojasvi Gulyani and pursuing major in Sociology (2nd year) from Janki Devi Memorial College.  I play a dual role in college where the first is like normal students facing attendance, tests and internals. The second is being the class representative and an active member of my department where I try to ensure that the correct information is passed to the students and to the teachers.

2) What's it like to juggle between a leadership role and normal college life?

My department comprises and defines my college life. With leadership comes the responsibility to maintain the dignity of the respective post assigned. There is a big responsibility for holding up the trust of the members of the department which is very different from regular college life.

3) Do you enjoy the kind of influence you hold at such a young age?

I do. But there are times when I feel that such influence have an impact on my relationship with my classmates. But again that's part of my duty which I have to fulfill as with great power comes great responsibility.

4) Do you have a message for parents to allow their kids to do things besides academics?

Yes. Parents should definitely allow their kids to go beyond academics as it helps them to explore more ideas and perspectives to arrive at better conclusions thereby giving more and more confidence.

5) What did you do in your current role that makes you feel really proud of yourself?

As earlier I was a very introvert kind of a person. When I became the class representative I got an opportunity to interact with lots of students from my own department from different years and professors at a personal level which has helped me to develop my communication skills and built my confidence of which I am really proud.

6)What's your message to encourage students to do internships and attend conferences?

I  just want to say that one should not miss any opportunity. If one has to grow one has to take risks and opportunities available.
