1. Tell us more about your experience as an
educator.
I have been teaching for more than 15 years
now. As an educator, I have always felt that motivation is the key. An educator
should motivate the student properly to educate him successfully.
2. What is your opinion of the Indian education system and how would you like to change that?
Indian education system helps in
enriching the student's knowledge but the one thing that I always find that the system
lacks is practical knowledge. The system is not that much connected to the practical experience of day to day life. I would like to introduce vacational
education and life centric education on a large scale.
3. What changes in the teaching
methodologies have you seen in recent times?
The major change that I have noticed is
that teachers are now explaining the concepts with more examples. They are
using different types of Teaching learning materials.
4. How does education help one do well in
their career?
Education is the weapon that sharps the
inner quality of mankind so proper education will help a person to get his /her
job or live a successful life as well.
5. Do you think teaching as a profession is
viewed at par with corporate jobs?
No. I don't think so. Teaching is still
viewed as a feminine and homely job. It is not given equal importance or
respect as any other corporate job even though it is the founding factor of
other career opportunities.
6. How can we adopt technology to make
teaching more effective?
We can make use of audiovisual aids while teaching.
We can teach in online classes also and many more examples can be given in this
context.
7. Why does India need more educators like
you?
A teacher should have proper knowledge of
his /her subject. He/she should be active, motivating, impartial, friendly and
should have the quality to transact the lesson successfully. I think I am having
all of these qualities as a teacher.
