Fitness is not just about physical workouts done vigorously 3 to 6 days a week. It is about a balance of workouts, diet & nutrition, sleep and our stress level.  Maintaining that balance and making positive lifestyle changes is the best way to stay healthy and fit.

1. Tell us more about yourself and your profession.

I am Krish, a Fitness Instructor. From being a full-time homemaker and a mom of 2 kids, I completed my Certification in Personal training and Pilates to take up my passion towards Fitness, to the next level.

I specialize in Strength & Conditioning and HIIT workouts. From having to be a freelance trainer in communities and sports centres in my city, I started providing customized Online Fitness Programs and Live Group Fitness sessions to clients all over India and Overseas.

My next major step is to launch my fitness studio very soon. Hoping to help more people achieve their fitness dreams and make fitness a part of their daily lifestyle change.

2. What is your fitness mantra?

3. What are some of the major misconceptions about diets and exercises

Myth: Spot Reduction of fat.
Fact: Majority of us workout specific areas in our body to lose fat in the targeted part, which is not possible as our body has its own pre-determined way of losing fat. Exercises and a healthy diet will help in overall fat loss.

Myth: Lifting weights will make women bulky.
Fact: Training with weights will help develop muscles which in turn will increase one’s metabolism. It will help burn fat, tighten and tone up the body.

Myth: Eating only healthy foods will help in losing weight. 
Fact: If you are going to consume too much of healthy food, you will still gain weight. Make sure to have a nutritious calorie deficit diet to lose weight.

4. How can one maintain a healthy lifestyle?

To build and maintain a healthy lifestyle, concentrate on your physical as well as your mental health. You could improve them by exercising 30 minutes a day, socializing with family and friends, getting sufficient sleep and eating healthy.

5. How can one build a successful career in your field?

In a couple of words, Passion and hard work.
  
6. What is one piece of advice you would like to give someone who wishes to lose weight?

Be patient and consistent. Healthy weight loss is not instant. It takes time as you need to make changes to embrace a healthy lifestyle. Don’t go in for ‘Fad Diets’. It is not sustainable for the long term. Instead, small changes daily to your diet and workouts will help you lose fat and keep you healthy.

6. How do diets and exercise contribute to overall well being and happiness?

Being fit and healthy should be the top priority for all. Exercising and eating right have huge effects on overall health. It can help in preventing and control a lot of health-related issues and other complications later in life.

Not only are these effective in losing weight, reduces stress, but it also improves self-esteem and makes you feel confident, improves sleep quality and makes you look younger.
