Take Efforts and Walk Your Own Way - Mrunmai Naikwadi

Whatever happens, always keep smiling and hold your face high. Stay away from negativity. If you are stuck in life, just remember "This shall too pass".

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I am Mrunmai Naikwadi, born and brought up in Pune. I am an engineer. I love exploring food and love cooking too. My love for food started during my college days.

It's been 5-6 years I am wandering around in Pune. I use to make a list of Restaurants, Cafes and Street stalls which I want to visit. My friends were foodie too so we use to taste the food of different Cuisine, at different places in any corner of Pune. As a blogger, I am active on Instagram, Zomato, Facebook and Google.

2. What led you to start this journey and your page on Instagram and what is it about?

While exploring different Cuisine at different places in Pune, I took many photos and started writing the review on Zomato (Khadad_Punekar ).

I had a lot of content and I needed a platform to put it, so my brother (Niranjan Naikwadi) suggested me to start a separate insta account for the same. He is the one who came up with the name "TasteOfMiles".

This is how I started my Journey on Zomato (5 yrs back) and on Insta (3yrs back)
TasteOfMiles is all about food from Restaurants, Cafes, Delivery Kitchen, Startups, Street Stalls and Home-cooked.

I met some fellow bloggers in Pune and my journey of blogging started 2 yrs back.

3. How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

Blogger is the one who describes the food from the aroma until the texture on his/her blog. It's his/her work to convey the feelings experienced while tasting the food to the public.

An influencer is the one who is active on any media (nowadays it's Instagram). It's his/her work to showcase the food on their platform so that the public is aware of it. It can be food or cosmetics or cloth or product or anything.

4. Is it financially sustainable to be a food blogger today?  How can someone make money out of it?

Frankly speaking, we don't earn anything in food blogging at least in Pune.
You should have a strong fan base and a good knowledge of food to earn in food blogging.

5. What is your idea of success or your mantra in life?

Stay Consistent and Focussed in your work. If you have an idea then implement however stupid you feel it is, still do it.

Do not compare your work with anyone else. Take efforts and walk your own way.
Always have a positive attitude.

Whatever happens, always keep smiling and hold your face high. Stay away from negativity. If you are stuck in life, just remember "This shall too pass". Don't cry on your mistakes, remember the lesson and think what should we do to make it right.

6. How can someone become a successful food blogger?

If you love food and if you are passionate then start blogging.

Stay Consistent and Create a lot of content.

Don't copy, Be authentic.

Communicate with your followers.

Stay with the Trend.

Be active on social media.

7. Which is your favourite book and why?

I love reading books but I cannot choose anything in particular. I have read books by Paulo Coelho, Nicholas Spark, Jeffrey Archer, Sidney Sheldon, Dan Brown, Harumi Murakami, J K Rowling.
