It is rightly said that India has a rich history and culture. The heritage here is unmatched. There are so many old fortresses and abandoned Havelis that spirits make their way inside them. Countless spooky places exist in different parts of India. In this article, we will pick up the top five out of them.
1. Bhangarh Fort
Whenever there is a discussion around scary places, the name of Bhangarh Fort always comes up. It is located in the spooky town of Bhangarh, Rajasthan. The fort is a constant source of tourists, both foreign and domestic.
This is despite the monument earning the tag of being one of the most abandoned places in India. A notable fact is that no tourist is allowed to visit the destination after sunset. Behind every haunted place, there is a story. Bhangarh Fort also has one.
There was a magician in a village who loved a princess very much. However, due to social as well as other factors, he wasn't allowed to marry her. He put a spell on her to make her fall in love with him.
In return, the princess who was also aware of occult practices, killed the magician with some spells. But before his death, the sorcerer placed a magic spell on the entire palace which led to its curse.
2. Malcha Mahal
This New Delhi palace is riddled with mysterious occurings. This piece of heritage is located amidst a forest area. It lies near the famous Buddha Garden. All the people who live near the premises of this palace fear entering it.
If you visit, you should be able to spot a signboard which says something about hound dogs, and trespassers being gunned down. There are multiple sources that say that the government has a shoot at sight order for anyone who attempts to trespass at the property.
3. Vrindavan Housing Society
Now we shall take you to one of the famous housing societies of Thane. In this society, it is not uncommon to experience a paranormal phenomenon. The residents of this haunted suburb have often reported sighting of ghosts and mysterious creatures.
It is very surprising that a fabulous-looking society such as this can be the victim of spooky occurrences. The houses here are considered one of the best real estate properties. There is a story that is often told to explain the various hauntings of society.
There was a man who was a resident here. He committed suicide one day and now his spirit allegedly wanders around the society creeping passers-by. One such incident was that a security guard was slapped with the sheer force that he almost fell off his chair. When other guards came to investigate, they found out no one in the surroundings.
Since this incident occurred, residents are cautious of roaming in the society premises at night to protect themselves from the ghost. Despite this, the reputation of the housing area is untarnished.
4. Delhi Cantt
When driving by this area, people have often sighted a lady clad in a white dress asking for a lift. If you ignore her, she will start running in your car at the same speed as your car. Some even said that they saw her sitting with them in the car in the passenger seat.
Although Delhi Cantt is one of the safest addresses of Delhi since you need permission to enter, ghosts do not need any permission. Like all other haunted locations, Delhi Cantt also has a story of its own.
The white-saree lady was reported to be run over by a car while asking for a lift when she was alive. In her afterlife, now all she does is ask for a lift from cars passing by.
5. Ramoji Film City
Ramoji film city is a well-established film city in Hyderabad. There are reports that say that the hotels in the film city are haunted. Many people point out that the film city has been constructed on the battlegrounds where the Nizams fought.
There have been several uncanny incidents that point towards the haunted nature of the location. There have been numerous injuries to people because of pushes from no definite direction. Lights have been falling and the food is scattered multiple times.
