Woh Wali Ladki, my username is nothing but just an idea that struck me when I was thinking about my Instagram account. I wanted to keep the name very different because I like having different types of content on my page.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I am a mass media graduate and have got a MBA degree in marketing. Well, in the start, it was all about my job and Instagram was just part time for me. I would explore it when I was bored or probably when I didn’t have anything to do.
So, it was a part of my life as a hobby for a few years. But, I started taking it very seriously probably at the end of 2019 or just when COVID-19 started. It was the same phase when I decided to quit my job and planned to become an influencer and continue it as a career because I realized that this is something I really like and would want to do.

2. What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

Woh Wali Ladki, my username is nothing but just an idea that struck me when I was thinking about my Instagram account. I wanted to keep the name very different because I like having different types of content on my page. It varies from funny videos, ghost stories, skincare routine, etc. It’s a lot of different things combined together. That’s why I did not want a name which is very common at all or had one dimensional name. For example: Glow or trendy. I wanted my username to be different and that’s why I went ahead with WohWaliLadki. Also, I feel it’s very connected with the audience.

3. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?

I usually find my inspiration from my day to day life. I actually look at the lives of the girls in reality and try to understand their problems and then I try to create my content in that way. It’s more about the real-life stories of the people around me. For example, it could be about acne or dull skin or hair fall, these are some of the concerns that every girl goes through at probably some stage of her life. The kind of content that I create is to make sure it directly connects with my audience in regards to their everyday problems with a possible solution.

4. Who is your favorite creator and why?

I really don’t have any specific name in mind when it comes to talking about my favorite content creator. But, I really like creators who create motivational videos or who have a thought process behind their videos and do enough research before posting any piece of content. They make sure that it connects well with the audience, in the sense that it can relate to their day to day life and their living. Each one who does that is my favorite content creator.

5. Which is your favorite book and why?

My favorite book without a doubt is the ‘Sounds of Silence’ by Nan Umrigar because that book actually changed my life from dab to fab. It really showed me the way to move into the right direction. Everything in my life kind of changed after I read that book. A lot of mysteries involved, anyone who is reading this interview, I would suggest you check out the book and read it because ‘Sounds of Silence’ is one book that people say you don’t go for, but rather the book comes to you. Overall, it involves a lot of mysteries and it definitely changed my life a lot.

6. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring creators?

The only piece of advice I would like to give is that there is no magic wand for success. It has to be about consistency and hard work without a doubt. In terms of Instagram, it’s about churning out good content and staying as connected as possible with your audience/followers. Also, at the same time, you have to know that nothing is going to stay forever, so do not get disheartened if you lose anything.
Any social media platform is just a game of time, it’s all about consistency. The right content at the right time is the perfect algorithm, it’s like a mixture of a lot of things that come together.
These are the things that one will learn in their journey because everyone goes through a different path. If I have to just give one advice then I would say be patient and wait for your day to come, you will probably shine when the time is right.
