Media too has been doing
its bit to tackle this problem. To spread mass awareness, there are repeated
advertisements on TV showing the root cause of cancer being smoking or usage of
tobacco.
Aamir Khan’s television
show “Satyamev Jayate” also dealt with concept of alcoholism among Indians,
especially the youth. This show has emerged a point of concern among the
Indians regarding the social evils such as alcohol and drugs.
It came out with a

for alcohol had for almost 27 years. Such kind of programs and short stories
will play a significant role in spreading awareness among the youth and
teenagers.
Education
and training about this:
This menace and danger of
drugs can be tackled by educating children at home and in school about drugs.
They need to be made conscious of the ill effects of drugs so that they can
make a conscious decision of avoiding this problem.
It is a common knowledge
that very often young children get in to this habit because of this influence
of their friends and the desire to become a part of the so called fashionable,
liberal and modern society.
Thus, youth has got to be
trained to make the right choices, learn to resist temptations and not succumb
and transit to peer pressure – all this boils right down to the
responsibilities of parents and schools to lay a strong foundation of ethical
character and discipline among the teenagers and youths.
