1. Tell us about your background and journey.

I come from a very middle class family, My Parents used to work in LIC in Mumbai. studied IN St Xaviers high school Ville parle and graduated from MMK college bandra. In my growing up years it was more of studies and cricket.

2. Did you ever think or dream of being an actor?

Not at all , though I used to act during the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in my society, we children would actually put up plays on a stage made by us with 5kilo postman oil tins filled with rubble and wood. It was so much fun doing that :)

But I used to wish that 365 days should be full of rehearsals and plays. But never thought of joining the acting field. I pursued sales and finance as I was doing my ICWA and one day whilst working in 20th century finance, I was lucky to have met Imtiaz merchant through my colleague Javed and out of the blue I was asked to try for a hero's role in RK Studio's film Paramveer chakra.

I didn't get the role but I found my destination and when I discussed it with my close friend Srinivas, he advised me to go for it.

3. How can one approach their career and have the confidence and belief to become an actor?

I think the first step to succeed, is to have confidence in one's ability and a lot of patience and this is true in whatever field one chooses. The pitfalls are many but success is sweet.

4. If not this, what would you be doing?

Maybe I would have been working in TOI in sales.

5. For a complete outsider with inroads, what advice would you like to give?

Keep at it, don't fear rejection, be confident and don't be over awed by anyone, end of the day everyone sits on a commode just like us.

6. What is your mantra of success?

There is no mantra of success, as after every success you raise your bar and move on its always about multiple successes.

7. Which is your favourite book and why?

The Secret , because it teaches you the power of dreaming and how to channelize your energies to achieve your dreams so dream and live in your dream world.

Never hurt anyone as much as you can and always look after your Parents.
