It's not just about somebody dumb and stupid who turns out to be in extraordinary places and historic events due to being in the perfect place at the perfect time. This story is lovely and will rouse everybody to go the distance and see the world like Forrest did and will never abandon their dreams.
Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks), a lethargic yet straightforward man from Alabama takes us through many years of his life, which incorporates different historical settings yet all the while his heart is on Jenny (Robin Wright Penn), a cherished childhood companion.
One of the clinchers for me in the film is when Forrest is stuck about life and existence and pondering as Lt.Dan said we all have a destiny and his Mom says it is the place where we are generally skimming around like a feather in the wind.
Forrest's character terms it very well with the following quote, "I think it is a little bit of both." From my encounters in life it gives off an impression of being that way.
And wait a minute! Did I mention the script is undeniably brilliant? There are a ton of truly entertaining moments. Furthermore, the music rocks.

"Forrest: What’s my destiny, Mama?
Mrs. Gump: You’re gonna have to figure that out for yourself."
- Forrest Gump(1994)
This film is about a man named, Forrest Gump, who is sitting on a seat at a bus stop, retelling his biography to any random person who sits next to him. He has an IQ of 75 and survived numerous historical moments – the Vietnam war, JFK's death, Watergate, and that's just the beginning.
He meets the President time and again, gets really good at ping pong while he was in the Army, and marathons across the nation three times.
As a kid, Forrest wore leg supports, and when he got on the school bus for his first day of school, nobody wanted to be friends with him or to do anything with him. Children can be mean, particularly the ones who keep their backpack on the seat close to them.
However, there was one girl who offered Forrest a seat. Her name was Jenny and they immediately turned out to be dearest companions. She didn't care that he was unique. She caused him to feel good. At the point when bullies came around to pick on young Forrest, Jenny yelled the now well known line, "Run, Forrest, run!"
In this way, he ran. In doing as such, his leg supports broke off and Forrest found he was super quick and really fast, which landed him a football grant at the University of Alabama, where he brought the opening shots back.
Subsequent to graduating, Forrest enrolls in the Army and meets his new closest friend, Bubba, who will not quit talking about going into the shrimping industry. It was making me hungry, sincerely.
Forrest also meets Lieutenant Dan, who has a fate to bite the dust in the war since he comes from a genealogy of men who did exactly that. But when he was wounded in an attack, his fate was so near being satisfied.
Yet no, Forrest would not allow him to die. He picked him and ran him to safety. Lieutenant Dan hated Forrest for this as he at this point had no legs. However in the end, Lieutenant Dan came around and they became good companions. For saving various lives in Vietnam, Forrest was given the Medal of Honor, once back home.
He at that point unearths an anti-war rally at the Lincoln Memorial and is raised in front of an audience to give a speech. There was an extremely large crowd. Naturally, his microphone cuts out, but he’s able to say his name.
Unbeknownst to him, Jenny is in the crowd. She gets out into the pool and Forrest gets down to hug her. Everybody cheers. It was very "hometown date on The Bachelor" of them.
While Forrest was off in Vietnam, Jenny took on the radical way of life and was hopping around, here and there, with a problematic group of people. There was no soundness in her life. At whatever point Forrest returned to help her out of circumstances, she didn't actually want him to get included. She would not like to drag him into her wrecks.
Forrest and Lieutenant Dan start a Bubba Gump Shrimp Company and become tycoons, so called millionaires. Forrest shares half his income with Bubba's family. While out on his boat, Forrest gets a call that his mother is sick. Tragically, she dies of cancer.
Jenny is attempting to get her life together – moving away from drugs and abuse – and stays with Forrest. They have a close romantic relationship for only one evening. He asks her to marry him, but she runs off the following morning. This is when Forrest chooses to run across the country for three years.

“Always be able to look back and say, at least I didn’t lead a humdrum life.”
– Forrest Gump
Two years after getting back from his cross country long distance race, he gets a letter from Jenny, saying she wants to get together with him. And this is why Forrest is at the bus station. He will see Jenny.
Okay, there's simply something sweet about those two and a bus, isn't there??
When he sees her, he discovers that she has a kid named, Forrest. It's his kid! Jenny says she is sick, suggesting that her time is expiring. They at long last get married and Jenny dies a year later.
The film closes with Forrest sending Forrest Jr. off to his school at the bus stop, very much like it started when Forrest boarded the bus for the first time.
The End.
The Cast and Directional Aspects
The movie is superbly directed by Robert Zemeckis, the film is his creation and is acted by an extraordinary cast on all levels.
From the youngsters who were Forrest Gump and Gump Jr. by Haley Joel Osment. Say whatever you want yet I feel Tom Hanks deserved the Oscar grant. Gary Sinise is inseparable from Lt.Dan at whatever point you hear those words. Sally Fields is the loving dutiful mother in her trying circumstance.
Mykelti Williamson as Bubba gives you a genuine sense in the story that Gump had a genuine friend, he moves you with his character. Words don't grasp the full performance of Robin Wright Penn as Jenny. Jennys' delicacy and pain are obvious as exhibited by Wright.
What is There to Like About the Movie?
I feel that quite a bit of Gumps' appeal is his downright sense of making the best choice regardless of the people and circumstances around him and we see that in this film.
That being the case possibly we, as a sane human creature, wish that we could be slightly more like that, attempting to keep up innate goodness and not the trade-offs-compromises we regularly make as we go down life's highways.
The film has it all too, drama, comedy, romance and it challenges cultural standards also. Then there are the practically endless quotes from the film that have slipped into ordinary everyday speech.
What is There to Dislike About the Movie?
Nothing.
The Bottom Line
“My Mama always said you’ve got to put the past behind you before you can move on.” - Forrest Gump(1994)
See it, appreciate it, consider the big picture, see it again. Think about it some more. Forrest Gump is probably one of the greatest movies, if not the greatest-ever made at any point.
So on the off chance that you have not seen the movie, watch it soon!! you are in for a genuine treat. If you did not like it, check it out again and hopefully, you will see it for the incredible story it is!
My ratings for the movie - 5 on 5
