These are the 4 things I take care of in my photography:- Previsualization, Perseverance, Perspective & Patience. Though, knowledge & practice is the key. One should have quick decision-making abilities as photography is the game of moments & moments happens within a fraction of a second & once it's gone it's gone for a lifetime.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

My name is Trikansh Sharma and I live in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. I am a 22 yrs young and passionate naturalist/photographer who loves sharing his knowledge & experiences as well as being in the wild. I love to stay close to Nature & wildlife, photography is a medium for that.

When I started my photography I had no plan to get specialized in wildlife photography but since I am living in the lap of nature I keep on getting deep inside into this field & now have fallen in love with what I do.  My journey so far is absolutely fun & full of new learnings every day.

2. How and when did you realize your passion for photography?

My father used to do photography. Curiosity to learn interesting new things made me jump into this after my school days. I started exploring deep into this & now enjoying what I am doing. I bought my first basic camera with kit lenses & started learning photography in 2017 & now I am presenting Nature & Wildlife photography as an art. Out of 365 days in a year 300 approx days, you will find me somewhere in the wild only. I encourage people to do wildlife photography because it's a good way to stay close to mother nature.

3. What are some tips you would like to share with amateur photographers?

I will suggest to them that no matter what situation is, if you want to do something then there is always a way & you just need to find it. Work hard, stay focused & eventually you will see yourself where you wanted to be. Always remember that there is a thin line difference between copying anyone & getting inspired by anyone.

If you learn anything from someone or see someone doing something they don't run to do the same thing, either you bring your own touch in that or do something totally different. That will make you stand out. & If you fail in anything then learn from your mistakes & come back again with more power.

4. What are the important skills one should have to be a successful photographer?

These are the 4 things I take care of in my photography:- Previsualization, Perseverance, Perspective & Patience. Though, knowledge & practice is the key. One should have quick decision-making abilities as photography is the game of moments & moments happens within a fraction of a second & once it's gone it's gone for a lifetime.

A good machine & a good mind can only produce good images & one should know that whatever gear you have, you should know how to make good use of it.

5. What are various opportunities available for aspiring photographers?

There are various opportunities available for aspiring photographers in this field. For instance, if someone can't do it full time for some reason then he/she may become a naturalist & while doing his/her job that person can do photography as well.

If someone can afford then he/she can make a good portfolio while visiting so many places while working on different species or working on a single species for a long time. There are few processes by which one can pitch national geography as well to give grants for different photography & film projects.

6. Which is your favorite book and why?

Honestly speaking, I don't read many books as I am more of a fieldwork guy who learns from his teachers on-field or by mistakes & experiences on the field.
