Yoga not only helps with physical health, but it also provides us a space to pause, to silent the mental noise, to actually breathe from our daily routine. 1. Tell us more about yourself and your profession.

My name is Genesis Karlet, I am 30 years old. I am a Venezuelan living in Spain.  I studied psychology in my native country and trained as a yoga teacher here in Spain.  I am the mother of a 9-year-old boy, who is the light of my life. I love nature, traveling, and eating, that last one too much I would say! I currently work as a model, yoga teacher, and content creator on social media.

2. What is your fitness mantra?

There is no such thing as physical health without mental health or mental health without physical health. Balance is the key. 

3. What are some of the major misconceptions about diets and exercises?

I believe the biggest mistake about diet and exercise is that people set very high and unrealistic goals to get started, causing most to never begin. Leading a healthy life is not built overnight. Sometimes we just need to take the first step, the first 10 minutes of a yoga class or workout routine, incorporate that fruit that we have heard so much is good for health in your diet, and the need to maintain that which is good for you will bear fruit.

4. How can one maintain a healthy lifestyle with Yoga?

5. How can one build a successful career in your field?

In my opinion, a successful career is the one that you truly enjoy, and that's very easy for others to note. People are going to want more of what they see that makes you so happy.

6. What is one piece of advice you would like to give someone who wishes to practice yoga?

Just do it! Wait no longer, there are no perfect clothes needed, neither a perfect yoga mat, or a super quiet home, and of course, you don't need to be flexible to practice yoga, you do yoga to become more flexible in body and mind. Start where you are. 

7. How do Yoga and daily exercise contributes to overall well being and happiness

Multiple studies point to the positive effects of yoga on mental and physical health, as well as on personal development. Regular yoga practice can improve satisfaction with life, self-esteem, reducing stress and anxiety. That's the biggest reward from yoga. It's not about getting fit. It's about a journey to holistic wellness.
