After 11 days of the Israeli attack on Gaza, the besieged strip in
Palestine, killing several hundreds of people including 65 children and
destroying many buildings, houses, and infrastructures in the already wounded
strip, the bombing had come to an end.
The attack was ended after a truce was held between the is Israeli
government and the Palestinian fighter groups. The ceasefire had started on Friday of the same week, but not
before the world had said his word.
A number of protests had been held in
several cities all around the world demanding justice for the people in
Palestine in general and the Gaza strip in specific.
Paris, London, Adelaide, and many
other cities had witnessed a week-long demonstration as solidarity to
Palestine. The protesters are demanding their governments to force sanctions on
Israel and to cut the weapons supply on them.
How Did the
Attack Start?
The attack had started after the
Israeli government issued an expulsion against the Palestinian people who live
in The Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in East Jerusalem.
In addition to the expulsion, Muslim
people were subjected to an Israeli attack in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of the
holiest places for Muslim worshippers around the world, during the holy month
of Ramadan.
All these had initiated the attacks between
Israel and the Palestinian fighter groups, which lasted 11 days, hundreds of
people were killed and many more people were left homeless in the Gaza strip.
People around the world were furious
about all this, they took it upon themselves to deliver the Palestinian
people’s voice to their governments and to the world in general.
In Australia
Thousands of people have gathered in
Hyde Park, Sydney before continuing their way through the streets of Sydney,
the capital of Australia while chanting and waving banners.
Dalia Al-Haj Qasem, Palestine Action
Group Activist, had stated that Palestinian people are facing extreme violence
from the Israeli forces on a daily basis.
She had also added that this violence
will not end until the Israeli occupation of Palestine comes to an end.
While in Adelaide, several hundreds
of protesters gathered outside the Parliament House before progressing through
the city.
The Australian Palestinian community
member Jana Fandi was in the protests and had given a statement saying that
even though a ceasefire was announced that does not mean it is over yet, and it
will not end until Palestine is fully free.
In Germany
According to the German news agency
Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa), one of the most famous news agencies in the world,
hundreds of people had gathered in Berlin waving Palestine flags and holding banners with “free Palestine” written on them.
While in other German cities like
Frankfort, hundreds had rallied to support the Palestinian cause and the
Palestinians who are being subjected to all types of violence and persecution
every day.
The protesters were chanting that
Palestine will be free from the river to the sea.
In The United
Kingdom
During the protests in Londen, United
Kingdom there was a sense of relief after the truce between the Palestinian
fighter groups and the Israeli forces was announced, but everyone knows that
more needs to be done.
People know that this is not over yet, and it will not be over until
Palestine is free and that the conflict between Palestine and Israel should not
be forgotten.
Some protesters were waving Palestine flags and setting off green and
red smoke flares. Other protesters were holding banners that read free
Palestine, stop bombing Gaza, and demanding sanctions on Israel.
In France
In the capital of France, Paris thousands rallied in a solidarity
protest in favor of Palestine shouting that Palestine will live, Palestine will
win, and we are all Palestinians.
The protesters also called the President of France Emmanuel Macron, as
they were chanting Israel assassin and Macron is an accomplice.
France Palestine Solidarity Association had organized this gathering
and other rallies in Parise. Bertrand Heilbronn the president of the
Association had said that the ceasefire does not solve the situation.
He had also added that this fight and this conflict is an important issue to all those who are concerned about justice, law, and human rights and who value human lives all over the world.
Many other cities around the world have witnessed similar protests,
demanding justice for Palestine and Palestinian people, to deliver the voice of
all Palestinians that are being subjected to all kinds of torture and violence.
Protesters are also demanding their governments to issue sanctions on
Israel and to free Palestine and Palestinians.
For the first time in a long time, the whole world has agreed to one
thing and, in my opinion, this does say something about the world having enough
of Israel’s wrongdoings over the years.
