1. Tell us more about yourself and your profession.
My name is Tania Romanenia @tania_romanenia, I’m 32 y.o. , from Belarus, living in Dubai, UAE for the past 10 years. I’m a Certified Yoga Teacher, Mindset Coach, NLP, TethaHealling, and Access Bars practitioner. I’m also a mom of 3 y.o. Girl and a happy wife.
2. What is your fitness mantra?
Yoga isn’t about reaching the toes, it’s about what you learn on the way there.
3. What are some of the major misconceptions about diets and exercises?
If we talk about yoga then it’s definitely- yoga is for flexible people, you should be young and preferably skinny as well. You have to be for sure Vegan. And also that yoga is just sitting in a weird position and holding it for ages. No one believes that you can have a great, fit body by “just doing yoga”.
Let’s start with being Vegan. To be completely honest, if you are into yoga then most probably yes, one day you might become vegetarian but it might take one month and another one year or decades. It’s just your body changes and asks for different foods afterward.
Yoga is for young, healthy, skinny, flexible people only - completely false. We practice yoga to stay all of the above, or to get those things. But not because we already are. It’s like no one comes to the gym full of muscles, right ?! They go there to get them!
Yoga has lots and lots of styles and everybody no matter of age, body type, and physical abilities can find something for themselves! All you need is just the right teacher and the right style!
And the last, there are plenty of styles that require a lot of physical strength while practicing. So if you choose those styles it’s pretty easy to get a strong body in a period of time without doing any other physical activities.
4. How can one maintain a healthy lifestyle with Yoga?
Yoga is a style of living, it starts on the mat but then spreads everywhere. Your timings change, you suddenly become an early riser, you quit alcohol and all the bad habits if you have some, you start respecting your own body and people around you, you become more loving and caring. And the best part it happens naturally with no effort!
5. How can one build a successful career in your field?
Like anywhere else, working hard, doing her/his best, using all the possible ways like social media and o line platforms! But most importantly by doing it with love! When you do what you love and you forwards this love to people, the universe helps you!
6. What is one piece of advice you would like to give someone who wishes to practice yoga?
One breath at a time, one step at a time! Be consistent, don’t judge, don’t compare enjoy it and learn how to love the pain. “The hardest part in yoga is to open your mat”. And that’s so true! Promise yourself to step on your mat daily, for at least 5-15 min, most of the days you will actually stay for way longer!
7. How do Yoga and daily exercise contributes to overall well-being and happiness.
To be honest, I can’t imagine how people leave without yoga. When I miss 3 days for some reason I have pain all over my body and my mood is not really great!
Yoga works on all levels, not only the physical body but mental and emotional as well. By doing Asanas we stimulating glands in the body, balancing the hormonal system, nervous system as well, and increasing energy levels! Yoga gives energy, do not take it!
