Manmeet Kaur - I’m More Bound Towards Media and I Always Wanted to Be in Front of the Camera (Blogger From India)

I’m more bound towards media and I always wanted to be in front of the camera, but never actually thought of becoming a content creator. When I used to go to my college, I always used to ask my friends to click on good pictures of mine.

By observing this nature of mine, one of my friends suggested I start creating a page on Instagram. However, I was still not very sure about this career, as initially, I thought that this is not something that can give me financial stability in the long run.

Tell us about your background and journey.

I completed my graduation from Amity University & I’ve done Journalism and Mass Communication. So, since my teenage years, I’m more bound towards media and I always wanted to be in front of the camera, but never actually thought of becoming a content creator. When I used to go to my college, I always used to ask my friends to click on good pictures of mine.

By observing this nature of mine, one of my friends suggested I start creating a page on Instagram. However, I was still not very sure about this career, as initially, I thought that this is not something that can give me financial stability in the long run.

But I had an interest in this Job so I started posting Quality and Aesthetic pictures on the gram back in 2019. Later in 2020, I started working in an MNC but deep inside I was not happy with my job and wanted to give more time to content creation and later in 2020, I decided to quit my cooperate job and go ahead with my Passion. I knew that the struggle is hard, and it will take time to grow on this platform because now the competition is tough. The challenge was to create something out of the box. Today, I’ve collaborated with so many big brands & I absolutely love what I do.

What led you to start your page on Instagram and what is it about?

As I said, my friend gave me the kick to start creating content on Instagram, so kudos to him.

On Instagram, my niche lies in Beauty & Skincare. But now I’m trying my hands on Fashion related content as well because I feel that I should not restrict myself to just beauty related content. Apart from Instagram, I also have a Youtube Channel called “Lifestyle Saga” where I post content that is curated for almost every human being who lies in the age group of 15-40. As I post videos related to Education, Beauty, Skincare, Fashion, Food and so on.

How would you distinguish the term blogger from an influencer?

So this is a question which is often asked to me by a lot of people and the only answer which comes to my mind is that a ‘Blogger’ is someone who offers content through a Blog which comes in the form of articles and images.

Whereas on the other hand, an ‘Influencer’ is someone who has the ability to create a perception in their target audience’s mind about a Marketplace. Influencers interact with their audience by actually talking to them on social media platforms like Instagram, Youtube, Facebook etc.

But honestly, I feel that every Blogger is an Influencer to a certain extent. However, not every Influencer is a Blogger.

Is it financially sustainable to be an influencer today?

Well, honestly it totally depends upon the quality of the content you create and the followers you have garnered on your social media platform. If you’ve excelled in this field, then definitely you will be financially stabled.

But on the other hand, if you’re new in this field, then it might take some time to get financially stable. However, if this is your ONLY PASSION, then all you need to do is just work harder and harder each day & you will surely shine one day.

What do you think influences consumer behaviour?

Honestly, I feel that a lot of things influences consumer behaviour but in this era of social media, humans tend to get inspired by someone who has similar interests as they do, whose likeability’s are similar to them. For instance, if I’m using a particular product for my skin and talking good things about it on my social media platform, then my community who has followed me because they love my work, the possibilities are very high that they check that product out.

However, Influencer Marketing plays a very significant role because brands try to get their products to advertise by a lot of Influencers because they are aware of the fact that almost everyone is very much socially active these days & this will definitely benefit the Brand and as well as the Influencer.
