About the Series

It is an adult series. The series is based on the protagonist’s name Aarya Sareen as the entire series is centered around her (Aarya). All the actors in the series are perfectly chosen for their respective roles. All actors have played their characters so efficiently that it never gets you in boredom. All episodes are linked to each other.

In the series, a highly extravagant Rajput family of Rajasthan is the family of Aarya. The family seems quite neat and sophisticated but this is not the reality. Aarya is a loving wife and a caring mother who has fought to unveil her husband’s murderer and to protect her children from every threat till the end.

In the incident, Aarya was clearly oblivious about the fact that in the name of pharmaceuticals business her husband, Jawahar (her husband’s friend), and her brother were secretly doing illegal business of supplying heroin consignments. In the first episode, her husband was shot and died.

From that incident, the whole story gets momentum. Though at the end of every episode, makers have shown dramatic twists to make it more interesting. All the characters are equally important in the series.

As real locations are quite appealing, creators have chosen all the real locations for shooting the series like Jaipur, Udaipur, Palgadh, and Mumbai. Creators have put in all the efforts to make it more real and watch-worthy.

The Series has only one track at the end of the last episode that is inspired by Bhagavad Gita, it is actually known as ‘The Bhagavad Gita song’ as it is an excerpt from Bhagavad Gita shlokas. The song absolutely fits in the situation where the protagonist is juggling to make a fairer choice between the two.

Critics’ Review On the Series

Undoubtedly, the series has proved a shiny success for the entire team. It has received all the praise and compliments from all walks. Most of the critics have commented on the cast selection and Sushmita Sen’s acting skills. She has won OTT Filmfare's best actor-female award for her flawless acting.

She has filled life into the character as one might not imagine Aarya without her. Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV gave two-and-a-half out of five and stated “Sushmita Sen holds the series together with her natural ability to fill every frame with her commanding presence.”

Stutee Ghosh of The Quint gave three out of five and stated “There is no denying that the world that is created is enigmatic and seduces the audience, things would have been far more enjoyable if it had been a little more pruned.”

The Hindu's Kenneth Rosario reviewed “The show, by no means, is extraordinary, yet it keeps you interested in the characters and their lives, and emerges as a good example of basic storytelling done right.”

India Today's Divyanshi Sharma commented, “The show ends on an intriguing note, making us eager for the second season already.” Raja Sen of ‘Mint’ stated “The show's pulp plot could engage in itself, but Aarya focuses on its central character's motivations and limitations rather than her force”.

The Bottom Line

Overall the series has the potential to hold the audience. It is a watch-worthy series that has all the elements of entertainment. Every character seems to be so real and enticing. All the people behind the camera have done extreme hard work to get this result to be it cloth designer, cinematographer, dialogue writer, background music, and many more.
