1. Tell us about your background and journey.
My name is Snehil Dixit Mehra, 37, married for 12 years and have a 10-year-old son. I am an Engineer by education and Creative Director at a leading OTT platform.
I started my journey in 2007 when I came to Mumbai to work in the TV industry. I started as a trainee and soon worked my way up in the TV industry and have been a successful Writer, Creative Director, transitioned to working for Web-series and in 2020 after one of my Instagram videos went viral, I started my journey of being a Social Media Influencer.
I am currently working on my first web series as an actor, the series is called Apharan Season 2 and will air this year.
2. When did you first decide that you wanted to create content and how did you start?
It happened by chance, I was working as a Creative Director on Apharan (ALT Balaji Web-series) when we needed to cast for a small part and I ended up playing the small part and that one-line role went Viral and netizens started calling my character BC Aunty.
This gave me an idea of making film reviews in a desi style. The Instagram page was slowly getting popularity when during the lockdown one CLASS of 2025 video went massively viral.
3. Is content creation a financially sustainable career?
It is definitely, brand associations and YouTube monetization are tools by which creators can make money but the key is to keep innovating and making consistently making videos.
4. Who is your favourite creator and why?
I like Gaurav Gera, Ronit Ashra and Danish Sait a lot they keep their content clean and fun.
5. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out content?
Inspiration comes firstly from the latest news and new character ideas come from people around. Thankfully I meet a lot of people in my profession and there is no lack of new personalities.
6. What does your typical day look like?
A typical day starts with my son’s online classes and posts breakfast I leave for work, I am done by 8-9 pm and after spending time with my husband and son.
7. Which is your favourite book and why?
“The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini it really moved me.
8. What piece of advice would you like to give to future and aspiring creators?
