Source: Wikipedia

The war between India and Pakistan in 1971 is one of the biggest and deadliest wars compared to all wars between the two countries. It is also the war called the Bangladesh liberation war. This war is the freedom of a new country called Bangladesh which is further called East Pakistan which is a part of West Pakistan.

The Indian Armed Forces are the main reason behind the rise of Bangladesh. The war started on 3 December 1971 and ended on 16 December 1971 after the partition of West Pakistan.

There were many operations conducted by Indian Armed Forces to fight with Pakistan. At the end of the war, 93 thousand Pakistani soldiers had surrendered to the Indian Army.

The Battle of Longewala is also one of the battlefields in the 1971 war. There were only 120 soldiers standing in front of 2000 Pakistani army tanks. The plan of Pakistan was to occupy longwall and then in the evening entered Delhi. The 120 soldiers' battalion was headed by Brigadier Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri. The famous film Border is based on this real incident.

All night the Indian soldiers are fighting against Pakistan's army tank and in the morning the Indian Air Force will come to the help of the army and they win the battle of longwall defeating Pakistan. Many soldiers had sacrificed their lives in the longwall battle, not only the Indian soldiers but also Pakistan soldiers.

Coordination of Indian Armed Forces in the 1971 War

The Indian Armed Force's coordination is seen in the war. It is the main reason that the India-Pakistan war of 1971 ended in a few days. The Air Force has destroyed Pakistan's Air Bases for which the Indian Army had easy access to enter the Pakistan area and the Indian Navy had also destroyed Pakistan's strongest submarine which is called PNS Ghazi which is given by the USA to Pakistan.

The war was fought both on the eastern and western fronts. On the Eastern front the Indian

The army defeated our divisions and 30,000 para-military forces of the Pak army in the 13 days of the war. In the west, a large area of Pakistani territory was occupied by Indian troops. About 600 officers and men of the Indian army were decorated with gallantry awards, Out of these 4 earned the Param Vir Chakra. 76 Maha Vir Chakra and 513 Vir Chakra.

In this war India suffered more than 12 thousand casualties, 2908 laid down their lives for the country and around 10 thousand were wounded. The Armed Force's coordination is the reason that the war between the two countries got over in just 13 days. If the war continues then it will also impact the citizens of the two countries and the number of casualties will also increase.

Maximum countries were against India in the War

There was a time when all over the countries in the world were against India because of the dominance of the USA which supports Pakistan by providing weapons and pressuring India diplomatically and militarily. Nato countries were also against India because it was a US alliance in the cold war. The US has deployed its aircraft in the Indian Ocean to counter India.

Britain has also sent its submarines into the Indian ocean to help Pakistan and many more countries had sent their weapons to Pakistan they also pressurized India on different platforms to stop the war with Pakistan. India had a difficult situation about how India will overcome these countries at the same time because Indian weapons are not as powerful as compared to those weapons which many countries had supplied to Pakistan.

USSR help India to win the 1971 War

When India saw that many countries had come in favor of Pakistan, USA and Britain had sent their naval assets to the Indian Ocean to stop India, then India had sent letters to USSR asking for help. The USSR had also sent its nuclear power submarine to the Indian Ocean to stop the US and Britain.

Soviet ships had stopped Britain in the Madagascar sea and finally, it also stopped the US from entering India’s sea routes. The Soviet Union had warned the world that if they take any action against India then they have to face dangerous consequences. Every country is afraid of what the Soviet Union can do to them because it was also a superpower of that era. India wins the war and the rise of a new Nation which is called Bangladesh.
