First of all, I am a Hardcore Foodie. My passion for food started this blog recently. Food blogging is just a tool to showcase my journey to these wonderful people. By Profession working into ITs sector and for passion doing this blog on my leave days & whenever I get free time. I don’t want to mix up my profession and passion.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

Love towards food started from my childhood and when I was doing schooling, I used to eat snacks and chocolates in Petti shops and roadside food vendors. Those tastes made me crazy about the food industry. Started to cook when I had free time and tried many different dishes.

Many times, it came out bad and sometimes it came so good. People in my area are so fond of my cooking and they used to get parcels to their homes whenever I cooked at home.

“My First love of cooking is my GRANDMA. She is the one who won't say NO to my cooking and will not waste my food at any cost”.

“MY First love of food blogging is my NEPHEW. He is the one who supports me to do this blog always and many didn’t like that I am doing this food blog, but he is the one who loves me to do this and daily encourages me to continue this and made me to run stronger”.

After I started working to reduce my work pressure, I started to search for good food joints that are into the street and which should be budget-friendly. Then it reduced my work pressure and I continued that. Started to say my search to this world via local Facebook food groups & was writing reviews about foods & restaurants for more than 4 years into Facebook groups.

After this COVID came to our world, many street vendors lost their jobs and shut down their shops. To help them once everything started back slowly, I started my food blog on Instagram with the name of FOODSTREETCOIMBATORE & made aware of many people and many small cafés and good joints. It's been nearly 16 months of food blogging learning about this food industry and about how the food industry runs.

2. Which is your favourite cuisine and dish?

Love to taste our Indian cuisines & want to explore our Indian foods first. I love South Indian & North Indian dishes. Particularly NH Dhaba’s OMG their food I love so much. My all-time favorite dish is Biryani.

Don’t know how I started eating this biriyani but whenever I go to every restaurant biryani will always be the first dish I always eat. If Biryani is good in restaurants, then most of their dishes will taste good.

3. Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?

First of all, I am a Hardcore Foodie. My passion for food started this blog recently. Food blogging is just a tool to showcase my journey to these wonderful people. By Profession working into ITs sector and for passion doing this blog on my leave days & whenever I get free time. I don’t want to mix up my profession and passion.

4. Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?

Every restaurant has its own signature dish and not all restaurants will be good in all dishes. We need to explore many food joints and try their food. Based on that we can come to know which dish or Food will be good in which restaurants.

To be noted: There are many small cafés and street food restaurants that serve good quality and tastiest food to the people more than the biggest chain restaurant. But we don't know about them and finding them and sharing about their food is my first priority to start this blog.

5. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?

I have a few points to review about food and restaurants. If it comes to a restaurant their Service & hygiene will be my first point & the rest all other comes as secondary. When it comes to food, first of all, taste wants to be good & it should be eaten by all types of people. And will it be worth the price they are charging? Salt & spice should be at a medium level so that it doesn’t get affected by all taste buds.

6. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?

Yes, South Indian Dosa. It's an all-time fav dish for vegetarians & Non vegetarians too. I started learning about this dish from my mom and grandma. They are the ones who showed me what food is and how it should be eaten. By seeing their cooking I learned a few dishes and how they can be cooked. Dosa is a regular dish in all hotels and homes. Every day morning my breakfast will be dosa as it's easy to prepare and easy to digest.

7. Which is your favourite book and why?

I am not a person who reads books and scales up my knowledge. I used to talk with different types of people based on how I learn about people's minds and what they think and what they are into. Explore many things which you like and travel a lot. This will give you more knowledge than books.
