Rutuja Wardole - Every Single Recipe is So Beautiful and Makes Me Want to Try it! (Food Blogger from Pune)

Appreciating a particular dish or restaurant is essential to creating engaging and informative content for your audience. The very first thing that catches my attention would be how well the dish is presented. It has a significant impact as it can enhance your dining experience.

1. Tell us about your background and journey.

Well currently I work as a software engineer at L&T Infotech, I try to bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my role. I aid my team in debugging and solving our company's codebase. My academic background includes a degree in electronics and telecommunications from SPPU, which I obtained in July 2022. In addition to my professional pursuits, I have also developed a passion for cooking during the lockdown period, resulting in a vast collection of culinary photography showcased through the _sporkful_ Instagram account. The number of photos that piled up in my phone due to my passion for cooking and clicking aesthetic photos, I felt the need to really showcase them and follow this path.

2. Which is your favorite cuisine and dish?

As a food blogger, I always have the urge to try out different cuisines & recipes from around. Every cuisine has its own unique characteristics. However, I do have a soft corner for Italian cuisine. But when it comes to picking a favorite dish, it's tough for me to choose as it changes with my mood & carvings! But the combination of Tomatoes, basil /rocket leaves & cheese is simply divine. Getting to try new things and experimenting with flavors, that's the fun part of being a food blogger!

3. Should food blogging be just a passion or can it become a regular career?

Food blogging can certainly evolve into a regular career path, provided one adheres to the three essential pillars which I follow: Content, Consistency, and Creativity. However, the journey may be challenging in the beginning, as restaurateurs, cafe owners, and marketing agencies may undervalue and underpay bloggers with a smaller audience, despite their delivery of high-quality content.

Alternatively, they may opt to collaborate with bloggers who possess fake followers and disregard content quality. Success in food blogging lies in overcoming these challenges and prioritizing content creation and the pursuit of capturing visually appealing cuisine.

However, in truth, food bloggers are the key stakeholders, driving the industry's direction through their content and unique perspectives

4. Which restaurants/food joints would you recommend to food lovers?

Being Indians, we are definitely more inclined towards street food but I personally like exploring cute aesthetic cafes/restaurants.

There are many favorites on my list though

• Da'nonna pizzeria & Donna Cucina - If you are a fan of authentic Italian cuisine, then these two are a must-visit. Da'nonna pizzeria's handmade pizza & Donna Cucina's pasta is to die for.
• Punjabi by Nature & Exotica: These restaurants have an amazing range of fusion dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds.
• Wake & bake cafe/ Rolling in the dough- For those who have sweet tooth, these dessert cafés are a must-visit. Their pastries are all freshly made and the presentation is beautiful

5. What makes you appreciate a particular dish or a restaurant and talk about it on your blog?

Appreciating a particular dish or restaurant is essential to creating engaging and informative content for your audience. The very first thing that catches my attention would be how well the dish is presented. It has a significant impact as it can enhance your dining experience.

Another important factor that can make a dish stand out is its flavor. If a particular restaurant can create a unique & delicious taste, it's worth mentioning on my blog.

I'd also like to add the importance of a friendly staff or service who are knowledgeable about the menu that adds up to the overall dining experience, as I've come across many different experiences whilst shooting.

6. Is there a dish you particularly associate yourself with?

As a food blogger, I have featured many delicious dishes on my blog, but the one dish that I particularly associate myself with is desserts. Baking desserts is something that I have learned on my own and also trying out new dessert flavors is always a hit with my audience. Plus, I love how versatile desserts can be - you can add all sorts of fruit flavors, coffee, and chocolate to make it your own.

7. Which is your favorite book and why?

I must admit that I am not an avid reader of books, but as a food blogger, I do have a favorite cookbook author that I love to turn to for inspiration. She's Molly Yeh, a food blogger herself and an author. I adore her receipts because it has a wide variety that is easy to follow and delicious! Every single recipe is so beautiful and makes me want to try it! While I may not have a favorite book in the traditional sense, she is one of my most cherished possessions.
